came up with this while smoking in my back yard, i think this rocks but i need some opinions and ideas if any. i have most of this built already and i think that was by accident,

Farseer
eldar jetbike
mantle of the laughing god
155pts

5 dire avengers
Wave serpent
holo-fields
TL Scatter laser
shuriken cannon
210pts x 5 = 1050pts

10 warpspiders
exarch
Spinneret rifle
fastshot
225pts

Fireprism 125pts
holo field
140pts x 3 = 320pts

"He stole my BALLOONS! Bob? Gun."

Nasty list, but then wave serpent spam always is. I'd assume this is a tournament list, because if you took this to a casual game, you are most assuredly going to piss off your opponent.

For a competitive list i would drop the fire prism and warp spider exarch (and his gear) and buy 2 WW with double BLs.

Well, the Spiders are cool but they don't really fit into a mech theme. Some will say the opposite. I'd drop them and add some Fire Dragons in Serpents just in the case the enemy fields heavy tanks.

This though I prefer Wraithguard to fire dragons if you can find the extra points. If you dropped the chin cannons all the Prisms and the Spiders you get 2 units of Wraithguard in Wave Serpents.

This is actually a good idea to keep up with the mech theme.

Dropping all prisms and chin cannons gives him 595pts
2 units of wraithguard in serpents are 320+220=540pts add HF to both and you got 20pts left enough for spirit stone of anathan with 5pts to spare.

He'll want Scatter lasers on those Serpents too so has 10 points. Chuck a chin cannon back on a Wave Serpent. Spirit stone is pointless in most cases.

If you go that route, then that Farseer is completely unecessary. Personally, if I was taking 2 Wraithguard in Serpents, I'd take a Spiritseer for my HQ, making them both troops. With the points spared, I'd take D-scythes on one of the Wraithguard, as Serpent spam usually struggles against 2+ saves.

So a Spiritseer, 7 Wave Serpents, 5 with Dire Avengers, 2 with Wraithguard. Those 5 with Avengers don't need holofields, when you have that many Serpents, points quickly skyrocket for not a lot of benefit. Give the WG Serpents Holofields, though, because they will be prioritized, so making them as survivable as possible is key to keeping the other Serpents alive.

In addition to that, if you wanted to get fancy, take out one Serpent with Dire Avengers and add in a stock Wraithknight. That should be exactly 1750 points. And that adds a counter-punch to your list plus some more anti-tank.

You'd have to drop a DA serpent if you made the WG troops as you'd have 7 troops choices. Perhaps swap the Farseer for a solitarch?

If he does what I proposed and takes out one Dire Avenger squad and their Serpent for a Wraithknight, he doesn't have that problem. Other than that, yep, I totally forgot about FOC limit on troops, lol. Probably because it's so rare that someone reaches it.

That's pretty tight now.

You *might* have some issues with Cronair lists, but other than that, it's pretty solid.
----

Tau with a pair of Riptides might cause you some level of grief?

Cronair is always a tough matchup for Eldar as Eldar AA is mediocre and Tesla Destructors are about the best weapon in the game to use against Wave Serpents. But good play can mitigate the issue through flooding their deployment zone.

The Wraithknight stands up well against Riptides as do Wave Serpents so that isn't a bad matchup either.

What would cause you more problems is the 15 Broadside list, Farsight bomb, possibly O'Vesastar & Seerstar.

Why? This is a standard Eldar list. At least there is no Jetseer Council.

i personally don't like the Jetseer council idea, i think that rip tides would decimate it, with a few marker lights, or a farsight bomb. at least this way i can avoid loosing a deathstar in one shot, i think that this is so much more reliable.

As far as I can tell the OP's list is 100 pts over - 3 fire prisms are 420, not 320 pts. Other than that it is obviously a strong list - perhaps you could make up the difference by dropping one wave serpent squad for 2x3 jetbikes?

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

Empirical evidence shows the contrary. At the minimum, they are very spread out and have 4++ invulnerable saves that can be rerolled via fortune. Or 2+ or 3++ cover, all rerollable.
