Hey guys, just bought a huge catachan army and trying to make a blob army I played two games today one against a white scar bike army and a second against a kairos pink horror army I won both times but had some minor hang ups I'm looking to make a more solid list but here's what I used.

Company command squad
Straken
Plasma guns 4x
Chimera

Sly marbo

Vet squad
Harker
ForwArd sentries
3x plasma guns

Infantry squad 1 plasma gun, power weapon
Infantry squad 1 plasma gun, power weapon
Platoon command power weapon , comissar
Heavy weapon squad 3x las cannons

Infantry platoon(same as above with minor changes)
Heavy weapon squad 3x missle launchers

3 sentinals multi lasers
3 sentinals las cannons

Any changes would be appreciated for my next buy I'm planning on getting the immobile earth shaker platforms from FW

I've found that the most dangerous thing to my army's health has been a plasma gun in a guardsman's hands. Statistically, if you 7 of them, then you're going to roll about 5 Get Hot rolls per game. I don't know about you. Statistically, you are going to only save one of those, meaning that if your guys don't get killed by the enemy then 4 of 7 on average are still going to kill themselves by the end of the game. That has been my experience.

I've learned that unless I know I am going to be facing a lot of terminators, then GL spam is way better. If you switch out all of those plasmas with GL's then you've got 7 S6 Assault shots (or 7 lil' pie plates against hordes) versus the rapid fire you get from plasma AND you save 70 points and the lives of your guardsmen. With those 70 points you can add in 7 AC's, or, if you need the AP 2 and S, three LC's and a Melta.

Also, I've found that I prefer literally any armament for my Scout Sentinels over the multi-laser. The things are basically outflanking, move-through-cover, walking Heavy Weapons Squads. If you give them ML's, AC's or LC's (all for relatively cheap), you stand a much better chance of seriously hurting something or killing some vehicles by hitting their side or rear armor. Against hordes, give them the heavy flamer.
