Heya all. I'm a new Ork player, and I find myself stuck with 6 of the old style metal Chaos Terminators. If I strip off all the chaos markings, add some gears and pistons, loads of dakka, do ya think they could pass as Meganobs? I know they are both on 40mm bases, the heads pop off the terms (throw a boyz head on there with a big ole gob)but MN's are a bit bigger than termies. In this case...does size matter?

Any Mad doc and Mek worth there teef could find a way too jam one of da boyz into da armour and make it work.

Any comments??

I've seen it done. Just make it more Ork than human and a decent amount of bitz and gubbins and you should be gold.

Hilarious! Someone will make terminators useful. Funny considering the "How do we make Terminators better" thread going next door.

Yeah, I have seen that work before. The torso is going to look very squished, but in a good way.

Lol...excellent, thanks all. Finally, after years of spending money on termies, just too see them blown to @%$& , I can have a bit of fun with them.

I've seen it done, and didn't like it. The plastic terminators are WAY too small for meganobs IMHO. Also, the old metal terminators are tiny compared to the plastic ones, making it worse.

My Orks dont really have a paint scheme (unless you count a lot of metal a paint scheme) Currently its a BM led Waaagh, so I try to make my Orks look as techie as possible (Ork tech=rust and mismatched parts)

I was thinking, for the termies...maybe a bit of beat up color on diff parts of the models (Ultramarine Blue leg, Blood Angel torso, bit of DA green on the arms) like the meks are using scrap pieces from years of fighting the SM's.

on the forum. Obviously

Hmm...their relatively smaller size is a problem, but I suppose it is possible to use plastic card to make them appear bigger. Build it on the termy like a box sort of thing, and stick more card on it to make it look like it's built from scrap.

Those are the old Meganobz from 2nd. Things looked a lot different then.

I would sell those Terminators and get Orks. Terminators make awful conversion fodder for Meganobz since their proportions are so different. I've seen it done well all of one time, and the guy might as well have scratchbuilt them for the work done.

The smaller size is EXACTLY what I want, like they had to be jammed in there. Like, I'm thinking of replacing the termies feet with big ole Ork feet...like they are bursting from the seams. If I wanted to buy Meganobz, I would, but I want to try and put something a lil unique and a lil comical on the board. If we were serious about our models, we would all play Ultramarines.

Size certainly matters for the Orks,
but I really see nothing keeping you back here.
Just make them orky and invent some fluff about how your Orks stole terminator armour.

If you watch the video Space Hulk 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOrdOl6xoRc) at one point they do show an ork crammed inside a suit of terminator armour, it's pretty funny. 3:48 is where you see him.
