I've been building up my nurgle daemons for a while now, but I just can't seem to win any bloody games with them!! I always seem to be shot to pieces before I get close enough to cause any real trouble :S

This is the list I'm using currently:

Great Unclean One: Psyker (Mastery Level 3); Greater Reward; Exalted Reward. 290

10 Plaguebearers of Nurgle: Plagueridden. 95
10 Plaguebearers of Nurgle: Plagueridden. 95
10 Plaguebearers of Nurgle: Plagueridden. 95

5 Plague Drones of Nurgle: Plaguebringer (Lesser Reward); Icon of Chaos; rot proboscis. 265

Nurgle Daemon Prince: Psyker (Mastery Level 3); Greater Reward; daemonic flight; Warp-forged Armour. 315

The GUO is very slow so I usually run a similar list but have only the 2 princes as HQ and take more Plague Drones instead (i.e. a full 9)

Remember that the only units that pose any threat in this list are the princes and the plague drones so they must be used carefully.

The plagueridden upgrade on the plaguebearers isn't very useful unless you take a lesser/greater reward as well (so you get AP2 from the Etherblade).

You've hit the nail on the head there: the only threats are the princes and to a lesser extent the drones. Once they bite the dust, I've got nothing! Would you add a couple soul grinders in heavy perhaps? Either grinders with torrent or plague hulks to DS off the drones icon...

If you dont mind spending the time/money.....Nurgle CSM are much better than Nurgle CD, I would make your current army into an allied detachment and make your main detachment something meta from the CSM dex

The reason you're having trouble winning games is because mono nurgle daemons is possibly the least competitive god. Khorne might be slightly better thanks to fleshhounds and bloodthirsters... If you're concerned about winning a lot nurgle isn't the way to go, I would add in slaanesh and tzeentch. They're the most competitive gods.

Ok so I've been rethinking entirely... How about the following flying circus style list? It's more or less based on what I already have but might do well...

It's a little better, I would really try to fit fateweaver into the list.

Tzeentch and nurgle hate each other even more than the other chaos gods! HERESY

Don't take tzeentch unless you're REALLY sick of losing, it will kill your fluff.

Just try spamming plague drones and winged daemon princes of nurgle, see if that works

His original list (that isn't winning) is already doing that... lol

Also, in fluff even enemy God's of chaos band together when needed.
