Both a friend and I are learning to properly play wh40k together after going halves in a DV starter kit. He took the chaos half and I took the DA half for conversion fodder (Converted DV Bikes) But till now I've just been fielding a bunch of my converted Tacticals and a Captain
Now I've started to think about how I'd actually like to field my LotD, and I really like the idea of using an Asteroth and Death Company list.

Being that I want to be on par with my friends 700pt DV CSMs I've quickly put together a 700pt DC list.

Death Company x5 (Boltgun), Power Axe, Hand Flamer, 125
Death Company x5 (Boltgun), Power Fist , 125

Death Company x5 (Bolt Pistol, Asteroth), Jump Packs, Thunder Hammer (Boltgun), Power Sword, Hand Flamer, 230

Total: 700

This list is just for fun and is supposed to be somewhat fluffy however if anyone has any recommendations on what other possibilities I should explore feel free to chip in as I am still rather new to list building.
Either way, I'm already getting excited about the prospect of a LotD styled Asteroth conversion. I'm thinkin' Grim Reaper themed

Alright, how about this: no hand flamers, no power swords. Take out thunder hammer in favor of PF. they do almost the same thing, except in the rare times against a character. Just not worth the points. Give every squad a PF, and then just get more marines with extra points.

Piece of wisdom: don't bother with Hand Flamers. If you want flamers, take a Baal Pred, outflanking or a Furioso Dread with Heavy Flamer+frag cannon in a drop pod. Power axes are fine but if you remove the two hand flamers and drop that TH to a PF, you can get a 3rd PF for the Axe squad. If you want you can model that axe as a sword too. Same points cost, totally up to you. Hell you could give him a spear. DC are only really good on the charge anyway. Might as well be sure they mop the floor with whatever they're charging.
