Competitive Orks 1500
Hoping for a mini tournament between friends at 1500 points this weekend. Put together a nice list that I think could take it all..

It's almost blasphemy to have a Warboss without a powerklaw but he will serve his purpose. He is basically the captain of the gunship or BW filled with SAG Mek and MANz for slow and purposeful. The Mek is equipped with an ammo runt in case I roll really crappy on the gun table. The wild cards are the Grots (objectives, tarpit, or meat shields) and the Vulcha Boyz who will be good for some mayhem.

I'm confused... your thread title says "competitive Orks" but you say its a tournament between friends and you've posted one of the least competitive lists I've ever seen =/

If you want competitive Orks, you kinda want to drop *everything*. To just make a casual list a bit stronger, I'd go for swapping trukk boyz for foot slogging shootas

lose the kanz! i too love em but they pop so easy!!
i tend to make everything in my army expendable replace for all boys and wasting a wagon on just 3 meganobs!! but 20 shoota boyz in there with it open topped!! will give you enough time to get you tide up and over em!!

also ive been usin the dakka jet weirdboy combo! but put him with a mob of 30shoota boys d/s infromt of em or shoot a range 36 strengh 10 melta auto hit on tank!!!

Dakkamite has the right of it. You're list isn't particularly competitive. A SAG Mek, deff dread, and Kanz just aren't reliable enough to be competitive. Our walkers aren't survivable enough espcially without a KFF Mek to get very far across the board in competitve play.

If you're going for fun then stick with your current list.

If you want competitive you'll need to revamp.

You're right, your warboss doesn't NEED a klaw, but honestly he's one of our only reliable ways to pop high AV targets.

I'd either drop the kanz or reduce them down to one unit of 3.

If you're going trukk boyz, try and do 5-6 trukks, that way you have a a shot of making it across the board with a few intact.

I like gretchen as objective holders and a sort of wildcard as you mentioned. Stormboyz can also be a wildcard if you are careful with them. Leave them in the open for a turn and they will be dead.
