The only thing I can think of, is rolling double 1's on the Warp Storm table, which causes all Daemons with Daemonic Instability to test. If the test is double 6's the unit is drawn back into the Warp.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Chaos Daemons must roll on the Warp Storm table each Shooting Phase. It is a rule unique to the army.

2 is every unit with the Daemonic Instability rule must take a LD test and suffers a Wound for each point they fail it by.

3 is Punished by the Gods! Randomly choose a model with the Daemonic Instability and Character rules and they must take a LD test on 3D6 and suffer a Wound for each point they get over their Leadership.

Either of those results could have killed your opponents Herald.
