I'm thinking of fielding Tigurius in a week and in all honesty, never used a librarian.

What psyker spells should I consider or shoot for?

He'll be drop podding with nine Sternguards behind enemy territory. To me prescience seems like a no brainer but maybe I'm not using another spell I should be thinking about.

Any help is appreciated

Tigurius is excellent with 9 sternguard. Trust me, I know.

Ok, Prescience, Fore(warning/boding I forget) is good for the 4+ inv which you're lacking in that unit. The other fore-whichever is good too.

To be quiet honest, re-roll your 5s and 6s on the divination chart and if you're stuck with them, pick prescience.

That way,then left

Misfortune maybe? To make them re-roll their saves
The 4+ invuln?
The problem with your plan is that you can't cast blessings/maledictions when coming in from reserves, and they'll probably be dead before their next turn.

If he is coming in via drop pod I don't think you can cast prescience the turn you arrive.

Personally he works well with Divination powers all around. The 4+ invul is nice, prescience of course is key and I like the ignore cover one. Run him with a unit of centurions and he buffs them to levels of extreme amazement.

Double check casting powers but I think they need to be cast before he moves so I don't think drop podding is a good way to use him. Also, giving him to your enemy is a poor strategy. He needs to stay back and buff your army. Not drop in and die likely giving up Warlord the next time your enemy fires back at them.

I'm dropping two dreadnoughts on turn one.
Then turn two, I'm hoping the dreadnoughts are still alive, and dropping 9 sterns and 10 combat squaded Tacticals.

By then I'm hoping my imperial knight is within range and drawing most of his attention.

I'm fighting against an imperial guard renegade player.

For Tigurius, maybe use his special one time use reroll hits upon landing on the ground. Which gives his unit the reroll he needs for the first shot off drop pod

If you're banking on Tigurius podding on turn 2, it means he won't cast any of the Divination powers until turn 3. And while he can use his Storm Of Fire warlord trait on arrival, that's still 2 turns of wasted buffs...

I like Tiggy in a Land Raider (variant of your choice) with a good shooty squad (I use Grav Centurions, but sterns are good too) That way you can start him in the vehicle with attached squad and start casting right away.

The scenario is going to be a fortress wall midfield. With two quad lascannons pointing at me from towers. The table is set up lengthwise, I have a 12" deployment zone and have roughly 60" of ground in front of me to cover. Even in a landraider I'm not getting there anytime soon.

Maybe I should just go with a reg librarian? I really want my sterns to get those rerolls when they bust out of the pod.

Sadly, no. Anything that requires you to do it at the start of the movement phase, you cannot do out of a drop pod.

Disembarking I thought was moving, can you not drop a pod and leave the troops inside?

I thought reserves were done before the movement phase anyways.

Disregard, just read that powers that generate before the movement phase cannon be cast.

But the good thing is that his Storm Fire special rule I can use on the shooting phase

Tiggy is also a good beat stick. Not great, but situational, given lotsa WraithKnights and Rpitides and other MCs, I had fun using Biomancy. He goes in your *first* drop pod. So the pre-Movement Blessings are not so important.

Once on the ground, Iron Arm, is great. Get at least one poke in and use the Force Wep's Instant Death. Keep in mind though, the Rod of Tiggy is AP 4.

I totally would love to slam my warlord on the table in the defenders castle on the first turn but wouldn't you rather send two dreadnoughts to stir them up first?

My plan is:

Imperial player goes first, defender can steal the initiative

2 dreadnoughts dropping on turn 1 in the defenders zone. The defender is behind a castle fortification.

Move my imperial knight towards one of the two quad lascannons defending the castle.

Shooting one of the quad lascannons with a predator/ three lascannons fired by Sgt Chronus.

And

Whirlwind hyperios (AA) w/ skyfire interceptor

Race 2 5 man combat squads up the table.

Thunderfire cannon doing fire cannon stuff on renegade guardsmen

Turn two, drop two pods with Tigurius and 9 combi-melta/melta gun Sternguards and 2 five man TAC squads behind enemy lines.

Hope the dreadnoughts are not dead. Wreak havoc.

Hopefully the two quad lascannons are destroyed.

I've intercepted the enemy flyer, if he has one.

Turn 3: predator and ten more Tacticals are arriving inside the castle and trying to control the two objectives.

Of course my tactics could be totally flawed and I could loose everyone. 2100 points and I don't feel like I have gak for troops on the table.

Just a question about this tactic. Do things like psychic hoods and Rune Priests' Runic weapons still work from within a transport?
