Hi all,

I recently regained my interest in 40k after a long hiatus (3rd edition) - I used to play BT - I came back briefly in 5th edition and bought the codex and a few chapter specific models and then went off to college and was not in a position to play.

Anyway, I am back now, and have a bunch of BT and don't know what to do. From what I am reading regarding 6th edition I no longer want to play BT and would like to change chapters. Considering that they are all painted (poorly) I was trying to find a chapter with a similar paint scheme i.e. RG or IH - ideally I would play IF with and Imperial Guard ally for larger point games.

A quick overview of the models I have:
40 Tactical marines + 2 Sargent w/ power weapons
4 Grenade launcher, 2 Lascannon, 2 Flamer
6 Assault Marines + 1 Sargent w/ PF and PP
~8 Terminators (Cyclone, TH/SS, Heavy Bolter, Claws x2, Heavy Flamer, X2 Chain Fist/Bolter)
5 Sword Brethren
Emperors Champion
6 Scouts (neophytes)
2 Rhinos
1 Razorback
1 LR Crusader
1 LR
1 Vindicator
1 Land Speeder + 1 Land Speeder typhoon
2 Bikes + 1 Assault Bike
(I was gifted the AoBR when it came out which is what got me back in to 5th edition - so I have those models as well - Terminators, Dred, Tactical squad, Captain)

Pretty sure that is about it.

So my question is:
1) Convert to IF and figure out how to repaint them with the current black base coat
2) Go for a RG or IH army and make it a little easier on myself regarding painting (though painting is the part that I enjoy the most -so I don't see myself doing this)

I would like to go with IF and repaint - but I don't know where to begin with that endeavor. Any tips?

Welcome back to the land of 40k! If you want Imperial Fist and you really really want them,You could always strip the paint from your model using Simple green and repaint them! Dont force yourself to play a chapter that you dont like,It will only make it boring for you to play and to paint ! So go with the chapter you like the most!

I really like the IF fluff and paint scheme. I am going to try and paint over my old BT.
