I play with a small group of players, mostly all Space Marine, though one is building up a Tyranid army, also some IG. Iv played a few 500 pt games, looking to hear some feedback before I go drop some money as I expand my army.

HQ:
Chaos Lord, Axe of Blind Fury, Bike, Meltabomb, Votlw, MoK

Troops:
Chaos Space Marine x10 , 2 Plasma, Melta Bomb,Icon of Vengence, Rhino with Dirge Caster
Chaos Space Marine x10, 2 Plasma, Melta Bomb,Icon of Vengence, Rhino with Dirge Caster
Chaos Cultist x10
Chaos Cultist x10

Fast Attack:
Chaos Biker x5 , 2 Meltagun, Meltabomb, Icon of Vengence,MoK
Chaos Biker x5 , 2 Meltagun, Meltabomb, Icon of Wrath, MoK

Elites:
Chaos Terminator X5, 5 Combi-Plasma, 4 power axe, 1 Power Maul

Heavy Support:
Chaos Havoc x7, 4 Autocannon

Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun

Total=1491

I had 145 pts to play with, was thinking of adding another Havoc Squad, but decided to buff out what I had with Icons and two extra havocs for the squad. Chaos Lord goes with the bikers with Icon of Wrath, Havocs with the Aegis Defense line and Gun. Cultist to sit on objectives, Plasma Marine squads for all around support (thought about giving one squad extra CCW, though the squad was getting pricy) Terminators and other Biker squad hopefully cause some panic and allow the lord to live long enough to reach his target. Wanted to run a Land raider to add to that factor with Khorne Bezerkers but felts I would be lacking in firepower. I theme the army around the Black Legion ( Not using the supplement) so I wanted to use as many marines as possible, not a fan of the Heldrake but I might buy one to try it out.

I would make the cultist 1 blob. Maybe even just 15 of them. 2 squads of 10 non fearless models aren't going to last very long.

If you go to 15, and then drop the two icons on the CSM squads you could buy them a mark of nurgle, T5 on objectives is better. In a perfect world you'd have plague marines on objectives, but to get them to fit would take some serious reshuffling!

Otherwise it's a nice list! And I'm with you on the drake front, I know they're awesome, I just don't want one!

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

Replace power maul with chainfist. One combi plasma with heavy flamer.
Combine the cultists together and use the saved points to get a gift of mutation for your warlord.

Only in death does duty end..... Not for Khorne it doesn't

Done, looked it over, makes nothing but sense!

Gonna run them with a group 15, was gonna do 20 but forgot to throw plasma guns on the plague marines I fit in!

So far this is the new list Iv come up with, added plague marines, combied and lowered the number of cultist and reworked a squad of marines to aid my bikers and terminators, look forward to the feedback!

HQ:
Chaos Lord, Axe of Blind Fury, Bike, Meltabomb, Votlw, MoK, gift of Mutation

Troops:
Chaos Space Marine x15 , 2 Flamers, Melta Bomb,Icon of Vengence, MoK, ccw
Chaos Cultist x15

Fast Attack:
Chaos Biker x5 , 2 Meltagun, Meltabomb, Icon of Vengence,MoK
Chaos Biker x5 , 2 Meltagun, Meltabomb, Icon of Wrath, MoK

Elites:
Chaos Terminator X5, 4 Combi-Plasma, 4 power axe, 1 heavy flamer, 1 powerfist
Plague Marines x7, 2 Plasma Gun, Rhino with Dirge Caster

Heavy Support:
Chaos Havoc x7, 4 Autocannon

Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun

Total=1495

Same idea, Biker lord with Icon of Wrath squad, Termies have more threat after their initial shooting now, other biker squad moves to draw fire/assist the assault now followed by a horde of CC marines with fearless, hoping they help aid in causing more panic as to what unit to focus fire on. Plague marines to do what they do best, as with cultist. Havocs in the back, shooting down enemy flyers with quad gun and picking off anyone brave enough to approach them!

Bump, wondering what people think of the second list, going to buy some bikers or another squad of CSM this weekend, still unsure on the 15 man squad footslogging

It's nice, but it's very weak on scoring units. Out of interest, why is The Lord on a bike and not a juggernaught? The juggler lord recieves an improved stat line and is still fast enough to roll with the bikes!

I like this list, Couple things I would change to it would be to throw the lord on a juggernaut. Your csm are going to die on foot extreamly fast and cultist will die instantly. 15 cultist are easy to make them test and run. Split the csm up and run rhinos. You drop them off they open fire then change Whatever hits your PM. Your termis are all going to strike last do to i1 from the axes If you fight a lot of SM I would change 2 or 3 to a power sword Just so you get some dmg in before the I1 combat fights. If you want more of a black legion look throw MOS on them so you got I5 termis and you could give icon also for feel no pain. I don't know if your going to march them up or deep strike but i highly hope its deep strike. If you deep strike them drop the flamer and put a autocannon in. Your army is going to be a fast hitting army so imo I would drop the havoc and adl for a forgefiend so you can march it up with the rest of the list and move it to assist in whatever you need help with during the game. Just a side note here but if you fight a lot of flyers I like running cultist in a ADL so what if they have bs 3 its twinlinked to fire it, plus that cover save really makes them worth it.

Hmm, Indeed it is lacking in scoring units, maybe two squads of CSM like my original list and the 20 cultist would work better then? I plan to have my lord joined with the bike unit with the Icon of Wrath, also I like having the biker champion with him as he can accept challenges and allow the lord to dish out the fury instead of wasting all the power of the aobf on one model.

Aye, the Termies I plan to deep strike. I'll dig deeper into swords over axes though I see your point. Also with the Havocs I have considered removing them but I feel the extra Firepower is worth it, though Iv yet to run them but If I dropped the Havocs I would run cultists with my adl.

My rule of thumb is to have one Troop unit for every 500 points in your list, so I would add another unit of Troops. If you made your Chaos Lord a Nurgle Lord, your Plague Marines would be Troops.
