Hi All - looking at starting Infinity... Yes another one of those questions...

250 points Airadna - highlanders - chosen because of the back ground and models - but would love to know your thoughts as to how this looks to start with..

Will most probably be playing against Aleph more often than not.... Any advice welcome :-)

It's a playable list, but a bit much for a beginner. You may want to ease into the game by starting with a 150 point force, then building your army from there after you have played a few games, and gradually introduced new rules.

A Lieutenant in a link is a tough thing to play. Splitting into 2 combat groups is a tough thing to play. Perhaps try for an 8- 10 order single combat group list to start with.

Looks like you want the Scots Guard box set and the Caledonian starter. You can always proxy them as other figures while you are learning. 10 minis is a good starting size. Add to the collection as you learn what you like.

Nobody in my group touches ALEPH, so sorry, no advice there.

Does this work better then - don't know why the scots are showing up as a link - isn't that up to me to choose? Thanks for your response!! :-)

For starting out, that will be fine. I would skip link teams for the first few games. You'll have enough to learn as is. You may want to switch to one 2nd battalion Scots Guard and change the paramedic for a 112 doctor.

I would actually use something like this list
CALEDONIAN HIGHLANDER ARMY
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

GROUP 1 8 1 1

S.A.S. Sniper Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (0.5 | 36)
112 Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (12)
HIGHLANDER Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (6)
SCOT (2nd Battalion) CH: Camouflage Molotok / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 27)
SCOT (1st Battalion) 2 Submachine guns, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (18)
VOLUNTEER Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (8)
VOLUNTEER HMG / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 20)
VOLUNTEER Lieutenant Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (8)
VOLUNTEER Light Shotgun, Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 11)

3 SWC | 146 Points

Since it has a bit of things you may want to get used to using right away, including smoke (the highlander) irregular and impetuous orders, and some camo.

You want to avoid an obvious lieutenant later on, but for now it will look to be one of the 2 volunteers. That's enough for starting.

So just looking at this again does this work? I am not a big fan of the 112 model - that being said as with most Infinity models they tend to grow on you somehow - thanks again
