So I've decided to field a Chaos Lord with a Jump Pack, and will be throwing him into a unit of 5 Raptors. Yes, I realize Bikers are better, but I have my heart set on Raptors purely because they look fantastic. Given that I'll be using Raptors either way, I'm undecided on a specific loadout for the squad.

One of my thoughts were to take:

Chaos Lord - 65
with Fisticlaws - 40
Jump Pack - 15
Sigil of Corruption - 25
Mark of Slaanesh - 15
Total - 160

Accompanied by
5 Raptors - 95
with 2 Flamers - 10
Mark of Slaanesh - 10
Icon of Excess - 30
Total - 145
for a grand total of 305 points.

The other option was to field

Chaos Lord - 65
with Fisticlaws - 40
Jump Pack - 15
Sigil of Corruption - 25
Mark of Khorne - 10
Total - 155

Accompanied by
5 Raptors - 95
with 2 Flamers - 10
Mark of Khorne - 10
Icon of Wrath - 15
Total - 130
for a grand total of 285 points

I figured the Slaanesh Lord would allow me to take Noise Marines as Troops. But I'm open to suggestions. Thoughts, anyone?

And let it be said, that thy glorious Lord of Chaos, Champion of the Ruinous Powers, decreed that all members of the loyalist Imperial Guard shall forever more be named 'Cover-Camping Little gaks.'

If u're not using bikes or spawns that are obviously better, why not use raptors in the unique role they can have - deepstrike them!
Cheap deversity squad with 2 meltas+combi-melta or flamers and lord with burning brand. They won't survive vs heavy fire anywayz. Just a LC + Combi-weapon or Brand if you want. Maybe even without sigil.
Imo it's not worth making raptors marked and taking an icon in such small squads, really. U're better off with a few extra guyz.

If you need NM as troops, take a second lord. AoBF is an awesome weapon for a JP khorne lord.

I strongly advise against DS them. Deply them in cover, use their speed to get them in combat. I would not take icons unless you take stronger unit - 5 is not enough. I'd take 5 raptors, 2 specials (flamers seems good), and split the quad and the lord as soon as you think it's opportune (i.e. the charged enemy will last more than a single combat turn). Get MB on the AC.

I used raptors as meltadrop. They're somewhat identical to termicide here with the exception of being a bit less durable. But the bright side is that the enemy can't avoid raptors like he can avoid termies. And they're ideal to destroy a tank that's acting separate from the main forces thanks to quicker movement.

I didn't have any luck with raptors flying across the field. They can't compete with spawns and bikers here. Playable but most likely will be a waste. While Deepstriking raptors do have some utility.

I'd be inclined to ditch the mark and icon on the squad in favor of a couple more bodies. Alternatively if you want to spend a bit more, 10 raptors MoK/Icon plus AoBF lord will do damage if you can get them into cc. flamers/meltas/nothing depending on rest of the list.
DS'ing a kitted hq is a gamble. You're one bad mishap away from losing a lynchpin threat in your army.

Hrm, if you are planning on running them across the field, use the burning brand on him, it'll soften up units before the charge.
Just make sure you have something equally scary to take attention away from him as you run them up a flank.
