Just found a few models that sell at retail for about $500-600 online for about $200, anything will come to you given enough patience and attainability.

There certainly merit to that argument, that eventually a good deal will turn up. That said, I prefer to work on the principle of grabbing a good deal when you see it. Things like a FW commissar for £8, a CSM Terminator Lord for £7.50 and 20 Dire Avengers, NIB for £22 are all things that I haven't neccessarily been waiting for, but have bought because of the great deal and not regretted it.

If you're patient and aware enough. It's easy to miss an opportunity if you aren't paying attention.

Not realy. If they are good people won't be selling them till they become weaker or bad . Limited edition stuff or FW recasts are there all the time , but they have a high cost and your not going to trade them in a shop , because everyone would notice that you suddenly have models you would never get normaly and that can end with a store ban .

This is the philosophy to why I always try to have cash in the bank. Cash begets cash. If I suddenly see a really good deal for a car, I can take that, because I have the money lying around for it. If you're the kind of person that buys everything in instalments, living paycheck to paycheck, you'll always be buying at full price. If you have money lying around, you'll trip over sales and blow outs every now and then, and fill up your digs for a fraction of the cost.

What?

second hand models or deals arent that hard to come buy. Why would anyone get banned for having models all of a sudden? Its non of their business where and you got them and how much money you have.

Second hand is great, but I do prefer new, unless its a 1 piece model. I love assembling models.

Haha, fair enough. What I meant was that it wasn't like I decided I wanted a CSM lord and waited for the deal, I had no idea I wanted one until I walked into the store and saw a half price sale. I grabbed it and it became an inquisitor, but I would never have planned something like that.

I am Yoda. You can't escape the plain fact that history built up to the point of you acquiring that model. You'd probably gone to the store all the friggin time lookin for deals, but that ONE caught you're eye, Ya know I'm right!

Just watch this for a week and you'll find something nice that people are selling lower than retail.

Of course this wouldn't be the first time you had no idea what you were talking about.

Unfortunately that Shadowsword interior detail kit I want seems to be determined to test the limits of patience. One opportunity in 2-3 years to get one, and a cheater scammed their way into winning the auction at a price well below my bid.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

not everywhere around the world owning a credit card is the norm and in some countries , if you other models from outside the country and customs decides to open it , you may end up with anything from 20-200% additional tax , depending if they class it as toy , collectible item or luxury product and what was the country of orgin .

Well my story about a month or two ago was I bought a brand new space hulk 3rd edition sealed etc for 16 pounds. I guess they found their way to me via wife browsing for something else. There was a big debate this on my thread to wether or not I committed a crime offering to pay for the asking value.

There have been a few times where I was the man in the right place at the right time in a game store where someone tired of the game ( usually someone whose wife or girlfriend is putting the squeeze on them)just walked in and placed an army in front of me and
told me if I wanted it, I could have it, no charge.
Sometimes a chance comment about a system I play(Epic, Warmaster, or BFG)has led to people selling me their entire collection for a token sum. Best score for me that way was a huge EPIC Tyranid army.
Picked up thousands of points both ways.
