I've moved several times in the last few years, and each time I've had to find a new gaming group in a new place where I don't know anyone. In several of these moves there were either no game stores, or the game store had no real online presence to let me know that they even existed.

Is it just me, or is there no single source for finding gaming groups/shops in your area? The closest I've seen is the player finder on this site, or the subforum for finding games. Do you think that these two are sufficient?

Do you think it would be valuable to have a way to connect with all of the gamers in your area, plan events, record your games, find out what games are played where, etc.?

If this doesn't already exist, what sorts of things would you want in an app like this?

Somewhere in south-central England.

There is a shop finder too on DakkaDakka.

A club finder would be a good addition. At the moment, you have to rely on Google searching of the local area.

I could see an app that combined all three things into one being rather useful.

I like the idea of planning events and so on. There are web sites for doing that sort of thing -- Meetup and Teamer (for sports.)

The WWW is fairly balkanized in this respect. If you combined all the functionality into one app it could be useful.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
