Subject: Going From 1000 to 1850 Mono-Khorne Daemons
I'm a bit of a new player and completely new to daemons and would like some input on my 1000pt list and where to go with it.
The list doesn't have to be competitive or striving for it, it's mainly for me to have some chaotic fun whilst still making my foe sweat a little.
So far I have devised a the following list:
HQ:
Bloodthirster 290
+ 2 Greater Reward
Troop:
Bloodletters x10 135
+Reaper, Banner, Instrument
Bloodletters x10 125
+Reaper, Banner
Fast:
Flesh Hounds x9 144
Flesh Hounds x9 144
Heavy Support:
Soul Grinder 160
+ Khorne, Warp Gaze
Total Points: 998
Tactics here are to run the hounds forward and potentially tie up annoying units as early as possible, keep the letters in reserves and attempt to deepstrike them in turn 2+ thus 1 instrument to make the process hopefully easier, Bloodthirster to trollop around and hit things and grinder for potential flyer and tank busting.
So that's what I got, now my main problem is how to expand this into the 1850 range, I know that with the increase I should definitely add a Skull cannon or two as well as a Karanak with a squad of something but as I am noob at this, I wanted to get some opinions and comments before I proceed.
Also, can someone tell me if its tournament legal to use the Warhounds from the Warriors of Chaos in place of Flesh Hounds.

ok, so im guessing the list so far is good, was thinking about extending it with the following:
Soul Grinder with Phlegm
1 more hound to each hound group (thus 2 groups of 10)
Lesser Rewards to both Bloodletter groups
Adding 2 more Bloodletter groups identical to the ones above all in reserve (so now 4 10s, 2 with inst, 2 without, all with lw)
5th bloodletter group only with icon + Karanak
Skullcannon
Another Grinder, this one to soften my foes before I charge. Cannon because cannon. Karanak and basic letters for a good scout blob / distraction if i play it well + beacon, lesser rewards for axes or e-blades, to help kill TEQ, hopefully, all in all I think its a good mix of blood for the blood god and milk for the khorne flakes to have a fun game, what do you guys think?

My only fear with this list is that it only has 2 troop squads that can get nuked hard.

Not bad, you might want to consider a second Skullcannon over the Soul grinder though for the benefits it gives to assault.
I prefer running Karanak with bloodcrushers and two heralds on Juggernaughts with the hounds. that gives you three high priority targets that all get scout moves.
I would also suggest bulking up the Bloodletters, one good deathwatch from your opponent and you won't have the bodies to finish them off. I usually shoot for 15 usually.

Allied lord of khorne with some bezerkers or khorne marked marines in a landraider? (And maybe a helldrake)
Also some cultists might help your scoring.
But mostly more hounds. Hounds rock.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Bloodthirster can hide behind a land raider and all.
Possibly stupid but a void shield (suitably khornate and converted ) could work. It blocks line of sight, so you can fly your thirster behind it, and it provides some safety for your scouting hounds to lurk in before a T2 charge.

updated my second post since its the one holding the 1850 list, @captyn, what would you change out to add more hounds? the last group of letts with karanak and add them in instead?

Do you need the banners? The reaper doesn't seem worth it in every unit (some will not see combat, and others will die in the first wave) the lesser rewards are probably not going to help. Id want blocks of 20 with buffs for fighting and minimum 10 for scoring. Or get a portalglpyh which gets you rearfield scoring for dirt cheap.
