So it is commonly accepted that a priest and an inquisitor with rad granades and hammerhand really benefits a conscript squad. Together, these come to 95pts. Now for 105pts more you get to take Inquisitor Karamazov instead.
What you lose is rerolls to hit on the charge, and +1s from hammerhand. Also potentially losing rerolls to wound from the priest.
What you keep is an unbreakable unit and rad granades.
What you gain is, the option to go to ground, a character which is unlikely to be sniped out, quite a nice combat character, a relentless multimelta, a 12" moral and pinning test reroll bubble and frag granades.
But best of all - you gain his orbital strike relay. Whilst now making the squad reasonably more dangerous at range (I say reasonably due to the scatter), the real benefit is of course his 'by any means' special rule, meaning the template can be placed over any friendly model (even in combat) and IT WILL NOT SCATTER. Obviously if planning to use this you will have to detach karamazov from the squad before charging or being charged so he can still fire by not being locked in combat (so a priest in the unit would still be advisable). But what this means is you could quite happily sacrifice 10 conscripts (30pts) in a densly packed combat to utterly obliterate much more expensive unit.
What do you think?
