Hey, so Iv been having a bit of an ebay clear out recently but with rumours of upcoming new editions wondered when you think the best time to sell the following would be

Dark vengeance sealed
Island of blood sealed
Wraithknight unopened box

Do I sell the starter boxes whilst people can still get them or do I hold off until they aren't available? Ordinarily I'd wait, but as there's now very little that's unique in the box I don't know

And the knight, do i make some money back now or hope for an eldar boost if certain rumours are true?

Definitely sell the knight now. It'll be worth about £5 when the rumours materialise and, as I'm a really kind and generous bloke, I'll give you a tenner posted for it.

I'm not sure on the box sets; they probably drop hugely in value for a while when the new one comes out, and then creep up a bit when people want the bits* from it.

The Wraithknight will probably creep up in price, so you may make more if you hold onto it for a while. But you need to factor in whether it's better to get £50 for it now or £60 for it in a years time; I'd probably rather have the money now.

*You might do better selling the units individually, as most people buying them now will probably only be after parts of it.

If they're sealed why not take them back to a GW as an unwanted gift and swap for something at full retail.

I can't remember,

I could exchange them, but I have all I want, there's nothing I need right now

I'd just see what other sellers are selling for on Ebay and go from there. I don't really think waiting is going to do much for you. It might on DV, as some of the models may not be obtainable anymore, but the Wraithknight won't be affected.

Open them and sell the models invidually / in smaller groups. You'll make much more profit than you'd get from selling the set as a whole.

The Island of Blood still has models that GW don't sell for the High elves - such as Sword Masters of Hoeth command; the griffon and the Reaver cavalry.

Plus what GW do sell is much more expensive than the IoB kit does (Swordmasters are £20 for 5 from GW or you can get 10 plus all the other HE parts on ebay for £30 - guess which most people want and go for ).

If a new core game comes out the IoB is very likely to go up in value; at least until GW releases those otherwise locked in models. Even if they do without price drops on what is sold the IoB would still be a very attractive deal.
