Treeman Ancient

Durthu

What an utterly gorgeous kit. I knew from the outset I wanted more of a classic paint job - earthy oranges, greens and browns. The wood effect was created using a base of a red brown highlighted with pure white, then washed with orange. In the very highest parts I have added texture to the wood to resemble bark. The ghostly blue was a nice contrast to the warmer tones of the orange, red and brown.

I decided to give the option of changing between Durthu and a Treeman ancient for versatility. The Treeman Ancient's pose is very dynamic and I feel it suits the warlike nature of Durthu.

And yes that is foliage on the Treeman. The Asrai aren't the only ones with green fingers.

How did I achieve the foliage? Want bigger pics? Click here.

Gorgeous work.
I'm tempted to pick this kit up, just for the pleasure of painting it.

Once again, you outclass GW's scheme and execution by miles. Amazing work; I wasn't really a fan of that kit before seeing this, but those shots really show off how good and dynamic it is.

Great scheme but I think the sword is a let down in comparison to the rest of your work. The inclusion of textured mixed media in the branches is excellent tho.

Do it. It's a fantastic kit. It's got me thinking of how much a small 1K force of Woodies would be.

That's really nice of you to say, thank you.

Araloth the Lord of Talsyn

Damn I love this model. I like to think that Araloth was actually once upon a time Gaymar the Foccer, who trained a bird to do the dirty work for him. The very idea and rule mechanic that the little sparrow can swoop down on the mightiest Chaos Lord and pluck his eyes out his hilarious.
