So just finished reading the rulebook/codex and have started to build my army. Book says I need at least 1 HQ and 2 Troop choices. I don't have any leaders for the DA yet so I cannot use Deathwing or Ravenwing as a troop choice which leaves me with Tactical Marines and Scouts.

For the bare minimum of my army, for the two Troop choices, do I have to have them be different troops, for example Tactical and Scout or can I have two squads of Tactical and be fine. Don't really like scouts tbh.

Oh I'm using DA btw

For 2 more weeks, just use "counts as".

Since you are new, or at least new to DA, I don't see anyone having a problem with you using "counts as" until you get get the proper minis.

I wanna try and be legit for a bit lol. In general though, would I need to use two different troops as my base troop choices or is each squad considered a different troop when considering army building?

Also, 7th edition is changing how things are built? Too many rumors, not enough facts.

In general you can take the same thing multiple times, no problem. So your two troop picks could be two identical tactical squads. Or two tacs with different gear. One one tac, one scout. Whatever.

Okay cool. Yeah I really don't like scouts that much and was trying to avoid. I ordered Azrael, Belial and Ezekial a week ago so it should be here soon

I meant since you don't like scouts, and you have scouts, just "counts as" them as regular DA space marines.
