Hi, I purchased a box of Sauria warriors (£20) and want to exchange them for something else, it is still wrapped in plastic and I have the receipt, do I have to return the product within a certain time period of purchase or can I return it whenever?

Depends entirely on the policies of where you purchased it.

If it's sealed, you don't even need a receipt (I've returned items I'd brought online to a GW store) as long as you're looking for an exchange or store credit.

If you're looking for a refund, you'll need a receipt, and it is possible that if the receipt shows the sale was longer than X ago, they won't refund (14 days is the usual limit for most.)

As you're looking for an exchange though, the only limitation will be of you've had them so long they've updated the packaging, then you may have issues.

There may be many areas where the complaints against GW are stacked up a mile high, but this isn't one of them.

GW is just like any other retailer. Just because there's tons of hate towards it on the Internet, doesn't mean they'll forbid you from returning their product.

Just like any other retailer, if the product is still sealed (i.e. fit for re-sale) and you have the receipt and you've returned it in 14-28 days (varies), you'll have no problem returning it. Provided it is re-sellable, some companies don't even ask for a receipt, and I wouldn't be surprised if GW's the same.

You will now need a receipt for refunds and exchanges at GW as they changed their policy a little while ago.

However that brings them into line with all other UK retailers.

You normally have up to 30 days to exchange items or get a refund so if you're in that time period you should be ok.

And I have never had any problems returning stuff to GW, they changes their policy though as unfortunately people were abusing it.

Obviously if an item is damaged or faulty, or not as described it is different. You won't need a receipt, just a proof of purchase, which can be anything from a carrier bag to a price sticker.

But companies are under no obligation to exchange or refund something if you simply want to swap it, but most will as a gesture of goodwill which is why it needs to be done within a certain time frame.

If you have the receipt though you shouldn't have any problem.
