A. Walrus - no, it statesa you choose ONE weapon and get the benefits and abiltiies of that ONE weapon.

You may be holding two, but you only EVER use one weapon.

Is Marenus equipped with 2 different special weapons he CAN use? Yes, a PF (2 of them) AND a power sword.

Meaning he CAN only use 2, no more.

Point being that it matters what a model uses as to what rules he uses for the combat.

Simply having ten assorted weapons in sheaths at your belt only means you can use two of them and use the rules for the two you are using/wielding.

Mind finishing that quote:

"Such is the penalty for WIELDING too many complex weapons!"

if you are not wielding 'two different special weapons', you do not use the rules for 'two different special weapons'

Firstly you do not have to use special weapons ... page 35 talks about "All engaged models fight with their full number of attacks and use any special close combat attacks they have" ... for those wondering these are things like servo arms (give the model an extra attack at I1 Str8 and ignore armour saves).

The trouble is there is no rule that lets you choose what you are using. For people with 1 or 2 weapons it doesn't matter you can just use the combination you have. Where it gets tricky is with models that have ..
a) more then 2 weapons
b) have 2 weapons one of which is two handed

In the last edition (yes i know its no longer current but it has a lot of the missing rules for this version) a player could choose what weapons they want a model to attack with and then follow the rules for that combination. That is missing from this version but you still need to have it for models with ...
a) more then 2 weapons
b) have 2 weapons one of which is two handed
... or you can't use the rules on page 42.

And for the last time stop using "Two different special weapons" without using "FIGHTING WITH TWO SINGLE-HANDED WEAPONS". If you are not fighting with 2 single handed weapons you never trigger that rule.
