I've seen the rulebooks available for sale individually at discount games store in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if they showed up on mantics ebook store when the game is fully released in a couple months. ATM there's just a story compendium I think and Dreadball rules (Dreadball is also awesome btw).

Really excited for this, gotta reign it in though since this being on the boat means we're still in for a fair wait.

I've said it before, but you're gonna have to freeze me!

I've obtained substantial quantities of brush on superglue to prepare these when they arrive.

Yeah really excited for this stuff, even more so now it's getting close. It just has the potential to make some great games. Interior sci-fi skirmish games set over multiple levels (ie. Deadzone), sci-fi RPGs, even if it's not gothic enough for 40k I'm expecting using it for FFG RPGs.

They're only "not gothic enough" if you buy into the latest exclusive version of GW's vision of 40k - where everything must match their over-the-top scenery kits. They're plenty 40k enough for me.

It's definitely serviceable, but this is more "40k" than the battle systems stuff which is a bit too clean, or maybe too high tech to fit right into 40k as imperium decor. It's perfect for Deadzone however imo, especially the more central worlds in the first sphere. No need for all battles to be out in the fringe!

It's more 40k, or at least not completely ridiculous when compared to that battle board thingie which is just mind boggling.

The only problem with Wayland I'm pretty sure is that you can be left waiting for a long time as items listed as "available" just mean "we're pretty sure we can order this in". If they have trouble getting stock for whatever reason, your order takes as long as it takes. Also they're not that cheap anymore. I have no problems with them shipping it.

Arriving while the fantasy KS is running then? I'd be much more likely to pledge heavily (again) for fantasy stuff if I have this in hand with confirmed quality.

How are you finding the quality? Good material? Crisp details? Clips together nicely?

Good to hear about the quality. The connection points were an expected problem I guess, I already stocked up on the superglue too hehe. Thanks for answering all the questions ; )

Yeah I'm really happy we'll get to see our own, or at least have unbiased reviews of the production kits from the sci-fi terrain before we pledge for that. Them waiting is a sign of their confidence too imo and bodes well for the success of the fantasy terrain kickstarter.

Yup, mine arrived today as well. Along with my wave 2 deadzone stuff. It has been a good day.

Sweet jesus, I don't think my pants could repel excitement of that magnitude.

Thanks for that info Dave. Checked ebay, looks like some reasonable options before I check some local stores.

13 colour set for GBP 14.39 (+4 int'l shipping) for example. Would have to confirm the colours as being suitable though.

When superglueing the edges for durability, should they be coloured before, after, or it doesn't matter?

You could get away with only doing some parts such as the clip contact points and the thinner sections, but my plan was to do basically all the edges. It should keep them all from fraying at all with no downside really? (other than the cost of the superglue and the time taken)

Yeah probably best bet to wait to see which markers are needed.

I don't know how they resisted opening all the boxes and building a cubic kilometer of terrain but they have amazing willpower.

If you're an eastie you might get it first if it comes in through the east coast still. Can take a while to come to Perth, though on the odd occasion it comes in from the west yay me ; p

Let us consume copious quantities of vegemite whilst we wait!

Just talking gak ; p

Yeah that should be good, we certainly have enough zombies for it ; p I'm also thinking Star Wars: Imperial Assault could be a good use of the terrain!

"We are pleased to inform you that your order (XXXXXX) has been despatched via Default on 2014 Aug 13 10:54:40"

Was what I received. Will deffo take at least a day longer to get to west coast I imagine.

Same here, no tracking number. I assume they exist somewhere though as these are large boxes distro'd by couriers that deliver on Sunday apparently (*shakes fist as Snrub*).

Are there any updates on this (the pens, not the KS) - I'm picking up my pledge tonight, and I'd really love to find out the correct pens ASAP so I can order them, since I don't want to start assembly until after I've super glued down the edges, which I can't do until I find out the current "best match" pens for all of the surfaces...

And THIS is why all my toys are still in boxes ; p
"I can't assemble these SMs until I get X to kitbash them with."
"I can't paint these guys until I practice this technique on something gakky."
"I can't paint these Dreamforge until I get the rest of the order." <-- this ones a killer ; p

Oh, picking mine up from the depot today too yaaay!

Brown/orange colour = Struts, Turbines, Conduits or any of the brown rusty iron textures.
Strong Black and Yellow = for any hazard markings (if you have those add-ons)
Light green = Lockers, Bunk Beds (if you have the add-on with the lockers)

When you glue-edge the Clone Chamber and Wall Console the glue actually deepens the colour of the edge of the card and looks great on both so no need to pen those.

So, basically I won't even bother opening the box for a few weeks or more until someone works out the codes since there's little point in the interim. /sigh

Good info! Hmmm to wait for them to do the legwork or to rush out and start testing pens...
*leans back to watch the fantasy battle system pledge* ; p

Still, I'm at 236 figures painted/finished this year, which is a best-ever excepting possibly in my teens when my paint was sometimes ...slightly less good.

Damn that's good going! I think I'm at about 80 done with several hundred new minis added to the "to-do" list this year -_-

Speaking of the leftover sheets, can anyone think of a use for them?
