That gaming table is sweet. I wish I were that handy.

Also, nice work on those pugs. Are you planning to use them for Flintloque, or for some other game?

Thanks Josh, to be honest I'm not particularly good at DIY stuff myself. The only tools I used were a drill, screwdriver, hammer, tape measure and a pencil. How I managed to make everything straight and level is beyond me. I'm kicking myself that I didn't do this over a year and a half ago because that's how long I've had most of the stuff I used for it (and the Ikea shelves in the background of the photo). I guess that shows what severe depression can do to projects like this. Oh well at least it's finally done.

The pugs are for Flintloque, according to the downloadable rules/background sheet Alternative Armies produced they should be treated as dwarves due to their diminutive size.

Cool stuff in the last page. I've got a couple of those Alternative Armies Ogres somewhere, but I never painted them up. Yours look rather good, and come to think of it, I've never seen any of them painted that I can recall, either.

The table is an inspired bit of 1:1 scale kitbashing. My 6x4 (actually, 8x4 because I wanted some extra table space on the edges) is simply a big old sheet of MDF from the hardware store plonked down on top of a folding table, the likes of which you might see wrestlers being dropped through. The storage inside looks like a great advantage of yours as well, just file the scenery away right under there!

Pugs look pretty good as well, for weird anthropomorphic animals, anyway! Not SRZ BZNZ like GW's goatmen.

Thanks Az, I have to confess aside from the Alternative Armies website and the Flintloque rulebook I've not seen any photos of the ogres painted either. Which is a pity because they were a joy to paint and I think most mini painters would enjoy painting them.

Terrain storage was the entire reason I built the table the way it is, as I saw it there was the choice of doing something similar to your table albeit smaller (I really don't have space for anything bigger), buying a custom built table (too expensive) or trying something crazy to make something decent myself. I went with the crazy option

That's one thing I really love about the Flintloque and Slaughterloo range, everything is done with a wonderful sense of humour rather than being serious grim dark business.

EDIT:

Next up on my painting bench is a few more Flintloque minis and some small scenic bits and pieces.

You definitely pulled off the table project. The surprising thing about Flintloque figures is that you don't see them as often as one might think. A lot of them fit straight into games like WHFB because of how completely open the game is to different styles of models. I guess Flintloque isn't the most well distributed or visible range, though - so it makes sense there.

As far as I know outside of the manufacturer only Noble Knight games stock Flintloque so that doesn't help visibility.

Anyway time for a huge update, my photography is getting slightly better, got myself a small photobox, still learning to use it but the results are better than my previous efforts. I just need to learn now to light minis properly and I should be able to take some reasonable photos soon.

So I'll start with the last of my Flintloque minis that needed painting.

First up is an Ogre Officer

I really enjoyed painting this mini and I'm really pleased with the end result.

Now for a selection of stunties with guns

That completes my small collection of Flintloque minis, I do want to get some (possibly some Elves and Rabbitmen) more but that can wait while I complete some other projects. Speaking of those other projects, I now have a games table, for that I need scenery. I've made a start.

It's a small hill from the Amera range of vacuum formed plastic scenery, not sure what else I can say about it.

I do also have some more minis on the go. Again from Alternative Armies but this time from their 15mm scale Ion Age range, I've picked up the starter set for Patrol Angis. Only got a single test mini from one of the two forces in the set done but it's a start.

Next up I plan to paint more Ion Age stuff and keep working on the rest of the Amera scenery I've got. Beyond that I've got some cheap trees from China that need basing and I have a few 3d designs I'm working on that I want to print and paint up.

Hi all, been a while since I posted anything here, I hope you think it's worth the wait because I actually have a completed (as if any project can ever really be complete) project to show off.

I've recently been on something of a Victorian Science Fiction binge and bought a big pile of metal minis to paint up from Ironclad Miniatures, once painted up I will have a pair of usable forces, not sure what ruleset I will use yet but I've got a few contenders to choose from. The first force I have painted up is a load of aliens in the form of Ironclad's not sandpeople they call the Sanwar. Next up, Prussians, Automatons and even a tank!

Anyway here's the Sanwar

Leading the Sanwar is a Shaman who knows what sort of unholy power he could unleash upon the colonial invaders from Earth?

The core of the force is a pair of infantry squads armed with nasty looking blunderbusses and supported by jezzail wielding snipers

Backing up the infantry is a 3 barrelled cannon and a small group of cavalry mounted on giant lizards

Sadly I've not got the space at the moment to set them up for a nice group shot I will try to do so though.

I've already made a good start on the Prussians and should hopefully be able to start posting photos of them soon.

More VSF shenanigans from me. I'm really enjoying painting VSF stuff.

Firstly some Prussian Infantry

And some Automatons

My next batch of minis will be more Prussians; another infantry squad and hopefully the commanding officer too. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll have a force large enough to go up against the Sanwar that I've already completed.
