TACHANKA REWORK - His LMG is no longer mounted, comes with a handy reflex sight and can make holes big enough to create quick rotate holes. He also gets a bolt action rifle that shoots incendiary grenades a-la Capitao, but these can bounce before detonating.
Also a massive overhaul on House, with less chance of getting spawn peeked.
Reworked ping system where you can ping individual gadgets.
New defender gadget: proximity alarm.
Replay mode, where you can view played matches from multiple angles and whatnot, this is very welcome as it will hopefully hatefeth cheaters and toxic players into being banned a lot faster now.
New Ash elite skin, which is Lara Croft cosplay for some odd reason.
Arcade mode with odd quickplay stuff like pistols only.

Nice to see Dokki and Thatcher working together now. Also Pulse X Hibana is a thing.

Lesion was in need of some balancing, and with Operation Void Edge he gets just that. He will no longer be able to see his GU Mines through obstructions of any kind, or from a certain distance. Most importantly, though, when an opposing Operator steps on a GU, there will no longer be any initial damage, giving them time to take it out before it becomes a problem. However, we have increased each tick’s damage from 4 to 6. Finally, downed operators will not take any damage anymore from Gu Mines, triggering them to no effect.
Twitch is also getting some changes. Her Shock Drone will now start with three shots, but it will have a cooldown system similar to Echo’s Yokai drone. Its firing power has also been reduced to 1 point of damage. All this serves to turn Twitch’s focus to Defenders’ utility, while keeping her drone relevant over the duration of the round.
And operator changes:
RECRUIT REWORK
To improve the Rainbow Six Siege onboarding experience, we’re re-assigning Recruit on a mission to lead and guide our new players. In Y5S1, recruit will have pre-set loadouts for ATT and DEF instead of CTU based loadouts. This will help ease the learning process and make recruit an ideal pick for new players familiarizing themselves with Siege.
CASTLE
Removed M45 secondary weapon and replaced with Super Shorty
FROST
Holographic scope added to Frost’s C1
GOYO
Falling onto Goyo’s Volcan only causes it collapse, instead of explode and propagate fire.
IQ
When objectives such as Bombs or Biohazard containers are still hidden during the action phase, if IQ detects them with her gadget she will reveal their location to her entire team.
LESION
Gu mines visible to Lesion only when in direct LOS and within an 8 meter distance.
Removal of initial Gu mine damage tick.
Gu mine damage increased to 6 damage per tick (instead of 4).
DBNO players now immune to GU Mines. Being DBNO will still trigger them but the GU mines effect will not apply.
TWITCH
Twitch Drone: Twitch’s drone will now use a charge system similar to Yokai drones instead of a set ammo count. Drones will start with the maximum ammo count of 3 shots and it will take 30 seconds to recharge a new shot.
Drone will start a round with 3 shots (instead of 5)
It takes 30s to fully recharge a shot, with a maximum carrying capacity of 3 shots per drone.
Drone shot cooldown reduced to 1s (from 2s)
Drone taser damage reduced to 1 hp (down from 10). Evil Eyes and Jager’s ADS gadget health also reduced to 1 hp.
Increased recoil for Twitch’s F2
WARDEN
Warden’s Smart Glasses will now run on a charge system and can be activated long as there is more than 20% left of his charge left. Activation lasts 10 seconds and needs 10 seconds for a full recharge.
Cooldown removed on Warden’s use of his gadget.
Warden can now control usage time and deactivate it manually, with a maximum activation time of 10 seconds.
His ability recharges at the same speed than it depletes. When fully depleted, it takes 10 seconds for it to be completely recharged
DMRS
Increased destruction for DMRs for faster destruction of barricades, hatches, and soft surfaces.
VECTOR .45
Vector damage increased to 23 (from 21)
New season name has been dropped: Operation Steel Wave.
The upcoming South African defender allegedly sports the internal codename "Slowpoke," with a gadget to slow players, like barbed wire, while also capable of marking enemy gadgets through cameras. ResetEra user Kormora, famed for past leaks, also discusses a "pyramid device for the defender that slows you down when it sees you." Ubisoft-hosted files on the Rainbow Six website also suggest this slowing gadget will be named the "Banshee."
Her rumored offensive partner has fewer surrounding details, potentially fulfilling a new breaching role. Rainbow Six Siege website files indicate he introduces the "S.E.L.M.A. launcher," favoring breaching utility over pure fragging power. The aforementioned Kormora suggests this will be a new hard breacher, although it's unclear how Ubisoft will differentiate him from the trusty trio of Thermite, Hibana, and Maverick.
We also receive new details on loadouts for both Operators, once again recycling existing firearms from the roster. The defender allegedly wields the T-5 SMG formerly used by Lesion, accompanied by the Super 90 shotgun used by Frost. The breacher may repurpose the AK-12 or Commando 552, although still undecided by Ubisoft, with the M1014 as a close-quarters backup.

Subject: Re:Rainbow Six Siege - Tachanka rework incoming
But the season is still young and it wouldn't surprise me if they receive a tweak or two during the Toxic Try-hard Server period before seeing a general release. Plus, once players have messed around with it we'll find out soon enough whether or not it's worth taking as area denial. Her gadget looks great, her primaries are decent-ish, but her sidearm makes up for it.
Biggest complaint right now is that people are saying both SAT operators have been made obsolete by these new operators as hard breacher / area denial respectively. Though Echo does have the second-highest ban rate on defence, so.. why an Echo elite Ubi? All we need now is a Jackal elite to really rub it in.
Where my Zofia elite though? Breakdancing Dokki is next.

I feel Ace needs a nerf just because he looks like a douchebag.
But worst case scenario they may remove one of his three special breaching charges. AK12 does come with NATO optics, which depending on who you ask, can be a downgrade as the Russian ACOG is easier to use, but YMMV.
I think both Echo and Jackal are at a point where any further nerfing would turn them into the next Blackbeard.
- Chalet rework
- Sam Fisher joins Attackers
- Reworked ping system
- Reworked optics
- Defenders now have a shared pool of reinforcements (10 regardless of how many players are on the team)
- New hard breaching gadget for attackers
- Reworked EMP grenade (will disable instead of destroy gadgets of defenders)
- Match replay alpha phase
- Map ban for ranked and unranked
Sadly no mention of Tachanka and Castle reworks, or the next elite skins, though it probably still is Doki who was leaked all the way back in May.

But not having to chase up spankers who rush off for that suicidal spawn peek or operators like Maestro who need time to deploy their gadgets in particular places can now leave it to anchors like Doc and Rook to do it for them. Also, faster ops who go for hatches can do more than two on their run if need be. Added bonus, when running custom games where you teach newbies the ropes, this also helps a lot.
And again, being down one player doesn't immediately force you to play with potential holes in your defences.
It's been a while since the last Splinter Cell game, but now he's turning up again. I just started the second season of Ghost Recon: Breakingpoint, which has the player working with Sam. Makes me wonder if Ubisoft is laying the groundwork for a new Splinter Cell game.
Current joke is, Ubi's putting Sam in everything but a new game. Expect him to cameo in Assassin's Creed Valhalla later this year.
Sam's missions in Breakpoint are awesome though (except for the first one, which is a stupid rail shooter), especially that final mission, well worth playing if you've maxed out the Echelon skill set and gotten the full Echelon uniform and goggles kit along with a silenced pistol you're comfy with.

In short, new customisable scopes incoming, with a massive overhaul on who can get what. People who love running with DMR's will be extra pleased, as they gain access to the 3x scope that was originally on Capitão and Big Rhonda's lmg's only. So higher magnification and a clearer aiming point, ace!
Below are the lists of who gets what scope, something that pops out straight away: Doc and Rook both no longer have ACOG's. My IQ.T loses ACOG on both 553 and G8A1 Bit of a bummer as I was one of the few people who couldn't get used to an ACOG until a couple of seasons ago.

Next elites have been leaked: Buck in alpine gear and Tachanka(!) showing off his pecs and tats. Latter means, his rework won't be far off then, either mid-season now or next season for sure.
Also seen a preview of upcoming alternate outfits: Medieval helmets and whatnot, plus muppet skins for an upcoming event.

Subject: Re:Rainbow Six Siege - Operation Shadow Legacy (Sam Fisher next attacker)
New season has been delayed for an unknown time due to some game-breaking bugs still plaguing TTS.
Meanwhile, stumbled across this one, where people go about creating a game mode of their own:
- five attackers
- one defender who plays as Oryx
- Attackers hide and Oryx has to track them down, he can only kill them after knocking them down first. Attackers may only melee back if they survive the knockdown, or are the last attacker standing.
- No guns may be used and most gadgets, or at least the lethal ones, are not allowed

Subject: Re:Rainbow Six Siege - Operation Shadow Legacy (Sam Fisher next attacker)
- Ace's S.E.L.M.A.'s are down to two charges instead of three per package
- Frost gets the ITA12S as a secondary weapon
- Glaz got some tweaks done on his scope to make him more attractive
- Melusi gets the MP5 and loses the T-5
- Oryx loses the MP5 and gets the T-5
- Some stuff about dealing with shields and how they will now also block explosive damage for others standing behind a shield user
Melusi getting the MP5 feels like a buff on top of an already powerful operator, when she isn't voted out. YMMV but the T-5 never felt like a good weapon, so giving it to Oryx, who already has a rather mediocre shotgun, feels like a downgrade, but what do I know? Ubisoft says that the T-5 is one of the best defender weapons out there right now.
Hopefully we should be seeing some TTS footage and feedback of the reworked Tachanka sooner or later, I know Chris from Varsity Gaming is already doing this. I know Bikini Bohdi is already whining a lot online about the rework, but feth that guy.
