3D printing can make some astounding models. However its not as simple as plug and play tech. Heck resin is really not suitable for unsupervised kids to work with (chemical burns anyone?). It's fantastic, honestly amazing technology, but right now I don't see it replacing GW any time soon. Heck a good quality 3D printer, plus resin, plus all the other stuff you need can set you back easily the cost of getting a good start with a full plastic GW army.

Pretty much. By the way, 3D printing has been out for quite a while now and that old meme "3D printers will kill GW" has been around for years.

That's not stopping people from buying GW kits, anyway.

You can have very good detailed 3D printed miniatures, but you have to put the price to obtain that result. Both in good 3D printers and adequate quality resin material.

That's the "hidden truth" of the 3D print revolution.

Works very good for heroes, but an army of 28-32 mm miniatures isn't that cheap to print when you compare the numbers of troops needed.

Also, I'll be honest to say cleaning 3D printed miniatures is a real chore and not fun to do at all, not even talking about the toxic products. With a GW plastic kit, at least I have fun building it.

As for the stocks...the Market God does its thing again. Better praise him in hope not to anger him. That's pretty much it, honestly. Until the day countries finally regulate the market like it should be.

3D printing is finally hitting the point where it can indeed look as good as plastic or resin instead of one step above lego bricks like 5 years ago. I still doubt it'll kill GW, different market, to 3d print figures you have to become a 3d-printing hobbyist basically, even at the basic level.3D printing is where PC gaming was in mid-90s. The games finally look good, but you still have to fiddle a lot to get them to work.

Not sure if people are aware there Ali’s a global pandemic, supply chain issues, hyper-inflation, and rising costs especially with transportation. This the cause of slowing releases and shrinking profits. Many stocks are getting beat up. I find it incredible that GW is don’t as well as it has been the last year.

Hell of a lot of people got into (or back into) the hobby during lockdown. Now that the world is returning to something close to normal, a lot of those people have decided not to continue with it.
