But what was said before is pretty true : all the kits belong to all the rulesets because the majority of people aren't that invested in the lore (unlike people from Bolt action, I guess ?). It's not a judgement, just an observation. Before, when I started 40k, it was that way, and the Imperial Armours were exactly that : historical events made by fans for fans. And it was fantastic !
Nowadays, as it was said before, you can't even expect your opponent to have a painted army.
And here we are, trying to get hard data to see if people are invested in the lore...
Have you seen the army lists of the last 3 editions ?
So yeah, I believe that if two people came across a bit of lore (the Badab War, for example) they wouldn't mind playing it with inappropriate models, like we see nowadays even in 30k with people using MKVI even for Istvaan or whatever (and even primaris bikers instead of 30k outriders). Because it's way simpler and cheaper this way, which is understandable.
I didn't think that such a statement would be so "controversial", as it's pretty obvious and common knowledge, but maybe you play in "preserved" communities full of meticulous fans who are spending their time being lore accurate, I wish that for you, but it's clearly not the majority of army lists and battle reports posted online.
To be more on topic, I think we'll get an hint with Black Library : if they keep writing books in the HH setting post Terra, I think we can reasonably plan that MKVII is to come. If they stop writing about HH just after Terra, maybe it's going to take sometimes before GW use them.

This is my feeling as well - I'm convinced there will be a mk7 kit for 30k at some point, because they know that a lot of us have a deep attachment to it and it's also a chance to sell more marines. They care a lot more about sales than the sanctity of the fluff, so Whether it's explicitly 30k/Siege of Terra or what who knows. It won't be for 40k though, they're doubling down on Primaris. I reckon the reason the current mk7 kit is still around, is because it still sells and it's not that old - 2014? There's a lot of older kits around. I think mk 4 is the same age. Plus it's a decent kit except for the stuntiness.

Oldhammer 40K? OK so couple hints. The HH team have said (I'm sure of this but can't remember where) that they don't want to go back over old ground, so I wouldn't be expecting a full rework of the Heresy, only stuff around the siege era or a bit before. Nothing in great depth anyway.
Plus, Badab is a fan favourite and Alan Bligh had plans to do the Age of Apostasy - I'm sure some on the team would still be attached to doing similar stuff. And BL needs something to write about after the Heresy ends.

Will we see a new game system? I doubt it. The main target market for Oldhammer stuff among current GW fans is Heresy and Old World gamers. So I would say we'd get Scouring & after sourcebooks for 30k rule set.
Ultimately all this depends on how well Heresy and the Old World sell I reckon.

TLDR, there's no way we've seen the last of Mk7

MK IV will proably be replaced before the MK VII kit TBH, the new MK 3 kit strongly suggests that

I disagree with this, mk7 will definitely come to the Heresy lineup at some point. Remember all the angst about mk 6 being the poster boys and how no one liked that? GW didn't care, they even posted a slap down in White Dwarf. You get the armour mark you're given and you'll damn well like it. Which suits me fine cos I love mk 7!

A couple of the mk7 kits that were recently removed were well regarded and fairly recent kits. Which makes me think there's not going to be any emotional attachment to the remaining kits. I feel like they'll go once there's a Heresy replacement. It is obviously not an urgent priority though. I feel like those kits are hanging on for now because GW want to be able to sell some mk7 to anyone who still wants it.

Yep, completely agree. I just hope they don't all have the same poses. Mk 7 could well be last, like years away, cos they know people want mk 2 and 5 as well, and since there's no removeable torsos and legs anymore, they can't just sell upgrade sprues for the existing kits.

Just chiming in to say I agree we'll almost certainly see a MK7 Heresy kit.

With the advent of the new MKIII on the way GW has shown their willingness to simply 're-graft' the aesthetics of the various armor marks onto the exact same base model / poses. This dramatically reduces the actual work required to make said kit, especially because it means they don't even have to design separate heavy or special weapon sprues.

I feel this is reinforced by the recent hint in the corrupted knights exemplary battles, where they explicitly mentioned the Siege of Terra as a part of the Heresy which the game hasn't explored yet.

And at the root of it, GW likes free money and it doesn't get more free than this.

I know the creator has posted a physical store for their prints, and I'm sure if you contact them they could hook you up with a local solution. Failing that, and seeing as we're talking about free files, you could probably look for a local printing service.
