It shows you how bad the stranglehold on the industry is. And also ironic that the entire satiric message of the game is how bad a future would be if this continues unabated.

Yeah, this and the last minute Stellar Blade censorship have been a one two punch of stupidity for the company. I guess they've just gotten too used to players rolling over and accepting everything.

Honestly, Sony needs to be taken down a peg every console generation or so, we've seen this arrogance happen in the beginning of the PS3 era after the success of the PS2 given how insane the starting price of the PS3 was when Xbox slammed them down in terms of sales and forced them to win back consumer goodwill with quality games and better consumer practices which spilled over into the start of the PS4 generation with them not following through with the DRM "always online" that Xbox did then, but ever since then having market dominance has made them cocky again since Xbox never really recovered since shooting themselves in the foot with the launch of the Xbox One.

I'm honestly hoping they consider moving their HQ back into Japan at some point because I feel like a lot of the bad decisions they've made in the gaming division started ever since they moved into California.

I was surprised by the number of "but I thought Sony were the good guys" posts I saw. Why? Why would you think that?

From what I've heard, the US (California, really) and Japan divisions don't see eye to eye on a number of things, which has caused some friction. But it's unlikely that they'll move the HQ back to Japan unless there's a really compelling reason to do so, imo.

I've heard similar rumblings in regards to Sony and Bungie.

Looks like some heads are rolling, one of their discord community managers, Spitz, got the axe for their less than stellar PR handling the player complaints on the whole debacle.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that he knew that he was going to get into trouble, most like this outcome, the moment he posted that players should be pissed and seek refunds for what Sony was doing.

The new Polar Patriots warbond isn't going very well amongst the community. The base skin colours are wrong for the new AR, which is also inferior to the current baseline Liberator AR even just at first glance based on stats (they really hate making AR's good in this game). The new armour looks nice but has no environmental buffs against being on Snow planets sadly. The plasma purifier gun is also another dud and it looks like only the pistol and the SMG are the weapons worth taking. Even the new "motivating shocks" booster basically doesn't do what it says it's supposed to do.

I think AH need to let the testing team keep these warbonds in the oven longer since they tend to be very underwhelming, which is weird since it's a PvE coop game so while I get you don't want to cakewalk through enemies, you also shouldn't feel penalized for not meta-gaming with certain weapons.

Hmm...

News is circulating that while Sony has removed the PSN requirement to play Helldivers 2, apparently the game still can't actually be played if you live in a country that doesn't have PSN. Arrowhead claims that Sony hasn't responded to their requests for an update on what's going on.

not sure about playing, but they did block the sale of the game in all the non-psn countries the same day they put out the post about not making psn required

Curious...

Makes me wonder if they think they can try again in the future.

It wouldn't surprise me
I saw it pointed out somewhere else that sony has a pattern of trying to pull some bs about every other console generation or so

Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

Bad business all-round for sure.

I still hop on for my daily challenge if it's a quick and easy one, but right now, with the patrol ratios being broken for solo games, the latest war bond being a disappointing mess and well, the balance team actively nerfing the gak out of anything remotely fun or good for the sake of maintaining some idiotic status quo only they know of, they're doing a great job sucking a lot of the fun out of the game right now. Not even surprised that we're not getting the new AT mines today, the hype is dead and gone.

Oh and the Scythe still can't shoot through foliage despite claims otherwise, the Spear still has massive trouble locking on to gak and so on.. At least the air-bursting launcher is fun to use, whoops should not have said that out loud, balancing team with the nerf bat incoming!

Here's hoping they unfeth this gak before going any further with the story, they've already been very receptive to the community request to put a hold on further war bond releases until the balancing team stops ruining things.
