Dang it, and I checked too...

Fair bit to show, just not the best at posting.
Started up on a Warlord titan, got the legs up:

Also started the head, and made some progress on the slann:

Slann finished, not my best work, but hopefully get the forest dragon version done eventually:

Also got the first 10 skaven assembled, and did some priming:

Did up a quick color test skaven, and pulled out some new Chronicle brushes:
Skaven:

Brushes new:

Brush after 1 skaven:

(Well, that ain't good...)

And back around to paint night. Trying to batch paint the 10 skaven, got the base colors done:

And painted this goofy guy from ironwind/Ral Partha as my breather mini between colors:

Sadly, priming the titan legs metallic went bad with the humidity, we'll see if I salvage or strip those, otherwise, feels like a good start to august.

Mostly just got the skaven done this week:

Feel it needs a bit more, but not sure what, so its done, I guess.

Closeup on the banner:

Probably switching off the titans, given no real progress this week, but possibly things will speed up a bit with the skaven out the way.

Paint night was mostly doing some mechs to fill out a DCMS lance for CBT, and the monthly challenge.
Cleaned up and primed:

Two-three very thin coats of burnt red, and some pyrole red highlight:

Inktense red highlight and picking out some color blocks:

And trim blocked out, needing to start shading:

Much closer to done than the titan I think...

Pretty sure thats sarcasm, but if not, nah, I expect curling from nylon/taklon, but this claimed to be kolinsky. Kinda disappointing.
I do tend to charge into a project til I run out of gas, then swap without putting it away because "aw, I'll get to it after..." (and then more jump on and it steadily gets buried...)
Storage wise:

Battletech on top

Animal adventurers, oathsworn, and other fuzzy things:

Legions imperialis and the non-travel packed WarGods:

Skirmish gaming and random fantasy:

And Saga and rank and flank armies:

Plus some assorted 40K and warmaster:

And then the epic:

Almost need another display case soon, and theres some stuff packed for travel and gaming as well.

Progress wise, just need freehand and basing on the mechs:

Sadly, didn't really match their lancemate's red. Oops...

Got the mechs done:

Also got the windows done to finish some 6mm buildings:

Also used it as an excuse to base and finish up the hobgoblin:

Plus got some goats assembled--turns out 25mm square, especially when the models are designed for it, need less fiddling:

Titan probably not getting done this month, we'll see what does...

The Hobgoblin's an old Ral Partha peice--I think the sculpt stamp on the bottom is like, 2000 or so--its newly cast from Iron Wind, but it likely feels retro because it is.

Part of me does hope they release more beastmen with TOW, but the prices are getting up there beyond my willingness to pay, so not sure I'd get them even if they did. Luckily, I go to a lot of old gamer flea markets and have a large pile of shame, so I may end up with a beastman army anyways...

Big wolfy guy is Cnebba from Mierce. Not sure they're still making him, mine's been sitting a good while. IIRC they also had some less large ones named Creoda and "Creoda's pack"

Thanks Meer_Cat, that is really appreciated. If you ever do get into WarGods, they do games on the HMGS con circuit, and its a fun little game. I hear you on the cost though, because metal models.

Tuesday paint night wise, kind of between things. Painted the next group of three armigers, just need basing:

Also broke out some of the latest haul from Wally's Basement, started some Land Speeders:

And mostly finished except basing some old plastic 6mm dradnauts:

Also cleaned up the werewolf barbarian, again, just needing basing tonight:

And picked up another 3D print from reaper, pretty flexible quality resin. Got him painted up pretty quick, albeit pretty basic:

Titan is looking unlikely, but hey, doing a bit more titanicus at least.

Thanks Nevelon. And battletech wise, there's always the option of painting up your favorite MW5 ride as a monitor mascot...

And Cap'n Facebeard, yep, they called it a "Drop Bear", pretty obviously a koala, and I tried to match the photos that came up when I googled it for the paintjob.

Thanks JoshinJapan, it's from the eridani light horse set, as the jumping Thunderbolt. It comes not glued to its jump cloud, and has matching pegs to its base, while my attempt at painting the cloud was bad. I liked how it looked without, so I went with it.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also hobbywise, did actually get to some basing, though too late to paint:

You can also see the jump jet exhast cloud bit next to the mad dog, like I said, wasn't really working.

Delayed weekend update:
Whole lot small finished projects got done.
Dreadnauts:

Werewolf I just got tired of looking at incomplete.

Ended up too glossy from.the wash, and could have done the blend in the sword better, but again, tired of looking at it.

And 2nd third of the armiger banner got based up:

Made a little forward progress on the warlord titan, thoigh not gonna be done this month:

And since a buddy wanted to start spearhead but beastmen aren't in any more, started kitbashing up some wolf-goat taurs for seekers in a hedonites list:
Test, partway done:

And liked it so started the rest:

Also, made some assembly on the next pink tank batch:

We'll see how far any of this gets...

Paint night report, as usual mostly screetching in another direction.

Finally sat down and did the 6mm rat-ogryn, at least to across the table standards:

But most of the evening was kicking out a gladiator (sculptor and caster unknown and recently picked up secondhand):

His loyal pack of hyenas for the arena:

And his favorite weird mutant (some creature from Cell entertainment, probably their 1999 line):

So this afternoon is probably going to be another base-o-rama rather than a final titan push as I was considering. Do now have a goofy arena group, so not nothing!
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

...if I'd been thinking, that would have been a good color scheme to pick. Technically was planning for the fourth to also be part of the group with the gladiator though.

Did some of the basing:
Hyenas:

Ratty boys:

Probably not getting time to make them fully done this month, stuff the next three days, but easy start to next one.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Or I could have an extra day due to outdoor stuff getting rained out, and.get them done:
The gladiator set together:

And closer up:

Then the tiny huge ratty boys:

Of course, I would find the 4th when they were done, but hey, another project...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Thanks aku-chan, they are kinda small--easy to paint because of it though!

For instance, got the fourth of them I couldn't find done sunday:

Also made a little terrain progress on the towers I bought from diabolical terrain, shoild be done just in time to get a few more at fall in:

Need to figure out how to clean up around those windows after I do the reflection smear.

And started trying to set up my next project. Pinup lizard, spoilered for nipples out, and a stack of self made city bases watimg for tiny perfectionist marines to stand on them:
Spoiler:

Some burrows and badgers badgers, possibly my challenge models for absolute unit, if I don't go with the assault mechs I picked out :

And trying to decide if 5 wide is enough with the new WGA ashigaru 10mm guys for warmaster, feels a bit narrow for the 40x20, but they'll lool odd if I mix the readied spear poses in, and I'll lose base count if I use the pairs...

I will say haven't tried nipping them yet, but I do share the general worry about fragility--had one pike break in three peices just so far, though in a way I could push back together and hit with some plastic glue. Hoping to get some stuff done or near done tonight at paint night, but we'll see.

Tuesday paint night, mostly getting options ready for the challenge this month.

Got a space marine superheavy ready for fun, but for the challenge was thinking either some assault mechs in a 1st Kestrel black and blue flames scheme, a Long Tom in a Skye Jaegers blue and checkers:

Or some badgers for burrows and badgers:

Ended up painting up the base colors on the mechs and Long Tom, though not really happy with either, blue is peeling, and the black reads more grey:

But most of the night was just near finishing the Fellblade:

Just needs a base, and maybe an edge highlight and some minor recognition markings. Feels like decent progress for the start of the month.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Thanks!

Got them done too:

Base was too small, but enh, it'll hold it down well enough.
And the mechs aren't really getting better, but hey, they got flames on them now I guess?

Gonna try to just push them to done, then see what else grabs my fancy...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Thanks Cap'n Facebeard!

Almost there on the mechs, just needs basing to dry and get painted, and some unit logo freehand.

And made a bit of progress blocking badgers colors:

Little more tonight, then see what happens at paint night.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Got the mechs done:

Still not happy with them the black and fires are meh at best, but not feeling up to more fighting on improving them.

Small progress on the badgers:

And finished mechs means room to start another project, in this case some test tacs for my emperors children LI stuff:

Hopefully turn some more stuff to done at paint night tomorrow.

Paint night stuff, got a fair bit done

Kept inching forwards on the Badgers:

Need to do cloth and figure out if I'm TMMimg or NMMing...

Also doubled back and got the kroxigor painted up ready for basing:

And cleaned up and mounted the Long Tom--probably going to need a third base section, and still needs checkering:

Plus ran the emperor's children tests through to done--gloomy violet xpress paint, with dark plum drybrushed over works, though I might like to try pushing the color more if I could figure out how:
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Thanks aku-chan! Got a little further on then, with some highlights:

Not sure I like the steel grey armor plan still, but only other color I can think to sub is green, and not sure that's going to work either. Also think the cloth needs some deeper shading I'll have to figure out, but got some time still.

Also got the kroxigors based up and done:

Started some 15mm splintered light skeleton beastmen as 10mm skeleton minotaurs, which just count as plain skeleton warriors at tje warmaster zoom level:

And made some progress on more 8mm emperor's children:

Hopefully get a bit more done today and maybe even get some of them done for paint night...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

So, got some more work done monday night, pushed a bit and got the infantry support done:

And paint night wise, started some 10mm (15mm, but used as minotaur skeletons) skeletons:

Started a base color for some heros for the store's painting contest:

Did the checkers for the skye jaegers scheme on my mobile long tom, albeit badly:

(Still needs a base bridge...)

And nearly done the badgers, mostly needs tartans, basing, a couple bits of freehand, and a little cleanup:

Still not sure whats going on the cards in the hat, and tempted to do some work on the breastplate, but worried about screwing it up. Not sure the sword snail is readble either, but we'll go with it...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Whelp. Plaid failed badly, and not really fixable without a partial strip that isn't happening this late in the month. Patched up best as I could and carried on, started basing:

Also started building my next set of city bases for LI:

And finsihed up the Mobile Long Tom by building a little mid strip, and doing the opposite side logo freehand.

Front half is mounted only to the front hex base, so I can use it either as the full train, or a more rules accurate single hex. Depending on how I feel on the badgers, may be my challenge entry--its not my best work, but that failed plaid on the skirt really brings down the badgers too.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Warboss_Waaazag: I try to keep that in mind yeah, but was hoping for something a bit less speed painted--should probably spend more time on it then though.

Cap'n Facebeard: bit of a gambler, that badger. Hoping the major arcana are at least somewhat readable as Judgement and the Empress, at least when prompted, but at least they read as cards....

And finished shots:

Plus started some more tinymarines:

Almost got the starters worth of them done...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Some more LI infantry then, blockade23, theu mostly just needs basing work:

Ought to do the tiny tanks for them as well, be the last bits for that half the starter set...

Also did a color on the kroot while I waited for things to dry:

(And then finished the beastman champion, but forgot pictures before putting him in the contest cabinet...)

Think October's going to be a four pack of weres on the challenge which'll be quick, not sure what else to jump on, maybe more tiny marines.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Thanks! Going to be honest, the tanks are fine, if a bit fiddly, but the LI infantry is pretty badly undercut in spots, I'd look into vanguard minis, or 3d prints for your infantry as long as you aren't playing in a GW store. Its helping me get into the speedpainting mindset at least!
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

I think thats now my headcannon for my emperors children--just incredibly broad New York accents enforced on pain of shaming.

Finished the set of them too:

And just gotta do metallics and figure out what I'm doing for basing on the skellies:

Making some good progress, we'll see how the weekend goes.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Weekend saw me get some skellies done:

Not really happy with the basing, its very obviously "just slather wash on it" and lacks contrast with the skeletons themselves, thinking a more yellow color would be better, but brain isn't into redoing it, maybe when we do the next stands.

And got a bit locked in on them, but got a full 2nd box of LI infanty assembled and ready for prime:

Next up, seeing if I can get the paint side done...
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Little sick, so no paint night to avoid spreading it. Usual distractions meant not as much got done, but did get pretty far on the marine batch:

Clean up the blue, add blacks and white, and do my gold, then base. Making good time, we'll see if it keeps up--also have to start the months challenge models....
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

And marine blob done:

And with them out, start the vehicles to try to get a starter half done:

Still got to get some.challenge stuff done too, been a bit off, we'll see how it goes.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Progress on the tanks:

Had to use a second layer of express to smooth it out on the bigger model I think, will try to drybrush them up and maybe finish them tonight.

Also started two of the challenge models--decided the other two didn't fit as well with the first set as I thought, and looked like more bits to paint, so they're moving to if I have time this month:

Torn between trying to speed paint a monster for the FLGS AoS paint comp, and doing a bunch of LI dreads next, we'll see what sticks.
Made in us
Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Probably should have waited on getting.them done for sleep reasons, but finished tanks:

So werewolves up next, and then figuring out the next assembly...
