In one of the most crime ridden cities in our whole country, Flint Michigan, there is something we all call "the Flint rock" or just "the rock" it had been around since my parents were youngins. This rock is a spot where anyone can show up and legally graffiti on it, ranging from seniors painting graduating colors, birthdays and even the occasional wedding proposal. Recently though the rock decided to shed some weight, and the pictures are pretty cool. Enjoy!

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
the band is playing somewhere and somewhere hearts are light,and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout but there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.

The paint probably sloughed off because it was trying desperately to escape Flint, like an amoeba.

What the hell is this about?

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

We had a rock in Edwardsville that was for the same purpose. It was only 'officially' allowed to be painted by the frats, but that didn't change the occasional drunken creeping up there to spray it to resemble a White Castle box.
