I'm looking to build a squad to camp on home objectives but not sure what load out I should give them, the list is going to be a mainly shooty one with the exception of Silas Alberec in a pod with a close combat orientated command squad. Would I be better off just loading up on camo cloak scouts?

Since you can score with non troop units, a dev squad would be a good bet. Scouts for cheap, but you are generally better off with power armor+cover than scout armor+better cover.

It also depends on your chapter tactics. I assume you are going with Excorists, meaning you can choose. If you go imperial fists you get re rolls to hit with bolters on a roll of a 1, and you get devs/centurion devs to re roll armor penetration.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Camo Scouts are good, especially with snipers behind an Aegis/ruins.

For a defensively shooty - something with a good range. Plasma perhaps. PC, Plasgun, Combi-plas on a tactical squad?

Depends really, what role do you want them to fill?

Edit: Serling's suggestion is good.

I'd go with something with good range, like a Lascannon or Plasma cannon which can hit at good range and don't require movement.

The suggestion for Devs is also good, if you don't absolutely need Objective Secured.

Objective secured doesn't matter to me too much, I actually forgot that everyone scores now so I might just go cheap scout units and then get more fun toys
