Didnt that fail horribly last time? I forget the names, but didnt an imperium scientist try to do this in the 'nid codex and eventually end up being killed by them?

According to Deathwatch, the Ordo Xenos/Deathwatch has an invisible Tyranid imprisoned in a sealed cell on one of their Watch-Stations.

The Imperium has effectively subjugated the Jokaero... except the Jokaero are not actually a sentient, intelligent species as we would consider them, so it's more an act of domestication rather than subjugation.

If an alien species can be subjugated, the Imperium will eventually attempt extermination instead.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
