How many pts are the hellforged artefacts and what can use them? I still haven't been able to work out how they work at all so all help is appreciated.

Check the rewards,I think that's how you get them.
They don't cost points themselves, but you get them with a reward ( greater ones I suppose)

I think you're asking for rules, which we cannot give you. Suffice to say you don't buy hellforged artifacts, you buy a roll on the exalted rewards table and can choose to get a hellforged artifact instead of whatever it is you rolled, if you didn't like it.

Aside from that, we can't give you a list of the artifacts or the table you roll on.

I don't need the table. I have the daemon codex and wanted to use the grimoire of true names to give fateweaver a 2+ re-rollable invuln save.

How all the daemonic gifts work is you can exchange your result for the "0" option, which is usually a weapon, but on the Exalted table is a Hellforged Artefact.

So, you pay the points to be able to roll on the Exalted table, then, if you're unhappy with the result of the roll (or frequently, don't even bother rolling because you know what you want from the 0 option) you can choose any HA you like.

So, you pay for a roll on the model you want carrying the GoTN, then exchange it for a selection on the HA list, which, in your case, will be the Book Of Inevitable Disappointment.

HAH! So true! I calculated in the average save on a model who gets Grimoire'd several times over the course of the game. Factoring in the Grimoire's inherent nerf-rate (it hurts instead of helps 1/3 of the time), even WITH Forewarning, that "buffed" unit only has an 80% save over the course of three turns. That's not fantastic. And without Forwarning, that's at 55%. That's Ruins-level saves!

Ask me to make 5+s with my daemons and I do it with such alarmingly deviant probability even I thought my dice were loaded! (They're not)

Ask me to make a 3+? DP or BT armour save? Grounding test? BoID? Ones and twos every time! (Well, feels that way)

Make sure when you buy the exalted upgrade to always roll even if you're just getting it for the artifact. 1 result will give you the artifact plus a bonus roll on the lesser chart.
