Hey folks

I am doing some playtesting for a tourney in July, should be some very tough lists and good players. Anyhow, I am trying to restrict myself to models I own- so here goes-

Iyanden List-
Spiritseer

Troops
10 Guardians, Brightlance, Waveserpent, Scatterlasers, Holofield
5 Wraithguard, D-Scythes, Waveserpent, Scatterlasers, Holofield
3 Jetbikes
3 Jetbikes

Elite
6 Fire Dragons, Waveserpent, Scatterlasers, Holofield

FA
5 Warp Spiders
5 Warp Spiders

HS
Wraithknight- twin Heavy D-Cannons
Wraithknight- Shield/Suncannon, Scatterlaser
2x Shadow weavers

The games all will be objective based. One is the relic. I think I have decent troops with the waveserpents and Wraithguard being a fairly durable unit. Spiritseer will go with the Wraithguard. The Wraithknight with the shield/suncannon will be the warlord. Hopefully I stick the shadow weavers and guardians on some objectives in my backfield. This list comes to 1849. Oh, probably just take Telepathy as my powers.

I like it, though you are light on AA.

Good luck!

Well, I'd try to squeeze in underslung shuricannons.
Five Fire Dragons should be enough to get the job done.

What about dropping the wraithknight with heavy d cannons and the shadow weavers and instead adding 2 wraithlords with dual brightlances?

I find they are two different units all together, WL are gun platforms with poor CC ability (due to low Ws/A and being slow) but their shooting is multi roles such as duel BL and duel wrist flamers, they are good at long ranged AT and close range anti hoard. The WK I must say is poor at long ranged shooting (lets face it) but in CC will beat the living daylights out of your target (unless its a dedicated butcher or hoard).

If you have time before the tournament try out both and tell us what you think?

Well, I'm not really a fan of Wraithlords since their damage output is too low.
In my Eldar army, I never go out without 3 Warwalkers w/ scatterlasers. Much more bang for the bucks. And if you have a Jetseer with guide around, they can shine even more.

I would drop the d-scythes and drop the fire dragons all together (the 5 wraithguard do the same thing then) and drop the shadow weavers, get 10 more guardians in a wave serpent and get a wraithlord and avatar - those last 2 (plus the wraith knights) will hold the centre of the board INCREDIBLY well seeing as it's relic

I know people like d-scythes but you have so much str6/7 you might well let them do the AP2 hunting.. if those enemy termies can't get into melee they'll die

you're only real risk is being in the open too much - with your monstrous creatures and anything that fires poison has to go turn 1.. fire every WS shield at it

your anti air is any Wave Serps that jinked last turn and (if it's AV10) your 40 guardian shots and/or spirit mark the flier and then use all your wraith units on it.. it will work.. lastly (my personal fave) is to actually IGNORE fliers, move "behind/under" them and you will usually only have to endure 2 rounds of shooting max and usually they shoot what you feed them (Guardians?)

Conanman, thanks for your thoughts. I would disagree that you don't need FDs and that wraithguard fill the same role. I thought that initially as well, however with the new vehicle damage chart, high armor is definitely going to be back. You absolutely need some AP1 in my opinion to get any sort of vehicle destroyed results, otherwise you are going to be having to remove every single HP off every vehicle your enemy has. This is especially important now that vehicles can be scoring. I am not incredibly impressed with Guardians - they break easily or you need an Avatar to make them work. The reason I like the D-Scythes in this situation is for their resiliency. Put 5 wraithguard on an objective and a unit assaults (Say terminators)- you get 5 snap shots and possibly wound one guy. Now, assault the 5 d-scythes, you get on avg 10 hits, some of those termies will die and your unit has a much greater chance of holding out a turn or two while a knight arrives to help them. I want the scythes to hold the middle of the board, normal wraithguard dont really do that and you can tie them up with a unit of guants, whereas the d-scythes will make a mess of light infantry that you try and tie them up with.
