A list of what I already have:

2 CCS/PCSs
30 Guardsmen
2 LRs, an Eradicator and an Exterminator
1 Autocannon Sentinel
1 Chimera
1 Stormblade

I'm just wondering what I should get next, Forge World is not off limits!

I have been looking at a few things but I'm not sure if they're any good; Saber Turrets, Vultures etc.

over there

Leman russ squadron, hellhounds, valkyries are all good choices, heavy weapons squads are a must if you play against anything. Wyverns are good, i havent gotten one yet.

When in doubt more guardsmen is always a good idea.

The west is on its death spiral.

It was a good run.

Either spend all your money on guardsmen or all your money on russes.

Then you just MIGHT be able to run a proppa foot or tank horde

But seriously, you can always use more russes and dudes with lasguns.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

I approve of this message.

You need firepower? Knights have firepower. You're lacking in the close combat department? Knights got you covered. You want tanks? Knights are like tanks, they're big, armored and stuff. Their cause is just, their will is strong and their guns are very, very large!

Basically get knights. They're great!

Krush, stomp, kill!

Schrott

you can buy 1 Baneblade, 3 Russes, and 3 Hellhounds in the "hammer of cadia" set for 205 pounds if you want some armor and fast attack with a Lord of War to put icing on the steel plated cake.

Tanks for the Tank God. Guns for the Gun Throne!

A few things to consider, ranked from most to least recommended:

1. You really need more infantry power. You should either aim for a large footslogging platoon with at least 4 infantry squads and HWTs both in the infantry squads and at least one squad of their own, or you should get more chimeras and run either a mounted platoon or multiple vet squads.

2. Consider picking up some regimental advisors. Techpriests are good for mech-heavy lists and commissars/priests are essential for large infantry blobs. I also recommend the pack with the Master of Ordnance and friends. They all have their uses, but I'm particularly fond of Ordnance because he's a 20-pt inaccurate Basilisk.

3. More tanks. Hellhounds are fantastic. You need more Russes too, especially if yours can't be swapped to other loadouts. Executioners and Vanquishers are both very nice right now.

4. Air support would be good. An Aegis line will handle basic anti-air. If you want more punch Vendettas are still one of the deadliest air superiority units, although they're not as stupid cheap as they once were. The Vulture is a fantastic model and if you give it Punisher cannons is incredibly effective against infantry and anything with rear armor 10 (though it won't scratch a Stormraven so watch out!).

5. Artillery can be awesome. The new Wyvern is fantastic for area-saturation anti-infantry, and a Manticore/Deathstrike can be fun if you ever play Apocalypse (particularly the Vortex Deathstrike). You mentioned Forge World, and I highly recommend the Colossus Bombard, for its ability to liquefy durable infantry (str 6 ap 3 ignores cover).

6. Maybe some elite infantry? Scions seem pretty cool, though I haven't had a chance to try them. They could ride in Vendettas if you end up getting some of those. The Scion platoon is cool because it gives you another Officer for orders.

Between

£450?

I would say...

IA3 SE (£50)
Two Vultures (£60 each)
Two sets of Punisher Cannons (£11.50)
An Avenger or two (£85 each).

Comes to £363 and provides a solid air wing, with plenty of cash left to shore up your ground presence with infantry. Lots and lots of infantry.
