Hi everyone,
I started playing WHFB a few months ago and I have slowly been building up my HE army to face a friends O&Gs.
When I have been reading through my own and his army book I noticed two things,
First, I can buy a Prince Imrik model but he has no entry in my book.
Second, my friend has an entry for Grom the Paunch but there is no availible model for him.

Is this something that exists in all books? How do you guys go about this? Run the Imrik model as normal prince on dragon or is there stats for him somewhere out there? In Groms case I assume you can use another model or make one yourself.

Thought?

It's happening less & less. Eventually GW does produce models for all the characters that need them (WoC have every character irrc) VC do as well.

As for models with no character it happens as the story advanced. Imrik died,

c. -2198 - Blighted Isle taken. Caledor does not draw the Sword of Khaine, even though it would give him enough power to destroy the Witch King. On the journey back, Caledor's ship Indraugnir is separated from the fleet and is assaulted by Dark Elf raiders. Caledor throws himself over the edge rather than be captured.

Imrik was also Caledor I. GW has more or less halted story progression but there are some old characters who still have models around as the supply was never depleted. you could run him as a normal prince on dragon but the new model is way better imo.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

There are still some items in there that allow you to create a similar character from scratch i.e. a Prince on a Dragon can take the Star Lance and Armour of Caledor. Unfortunately the horn is gone in this edition though.

I don't believe they were the same Imrik. Lots of the names get repeated.

John Rainbow is right, the Prince Imrik model came out sometime in 6th edition (?) and was a special character representing the modern descendant of Caledor Dragontamer/Caledor I. He gets a brief mention n the fluff of the newest book, but has no special rules or anything. The Star Lance and Armor of Caledor were once his special items I think.

Indeed they were.

His model was removed as it was a combination metal/plastic kit and was replaced by the new High Elf Dragon kit.

Could also be worth mentioning that Imrik appeared previously, with a different model, in 4th edition WHFB. The boxed game featured Eltharion's High Elves against Grom the Paunch and his goblins. Grom had quite a cool (I thought) chariot model, perhaps your friend could find one on eBay or something: http://www.solegends.com/citcat1998us/c1998usp183-02.htm

There was an older Grom's Goblin Guard Regiment of Renown too, in an even earlier edition, but that was before my time.

Thanks for the answers! Don't know if my friend even considers running Grom, he is more of a savage orcs kinda guy :-)

The new High Elf dragon kit (plastic) does come with the parts you need to make Imrik i.e. a big lance and a horn so you can recreate him with the new kit if you want to. Unfortunately though the horn no longer has rules so it would be purely for visual effect.
