Hey dakka,
Just received the imperial emplacement I ordered and when I opened the box the mold is black. Since when does forgeworld use black resin, or did they already pre prime the model?

They do for certain pieces
there terrain board is generally hollow brushed resin in black.

Hmm odd. Did you get it from FW for sure? If its painted try scratch some off the underside of the model? I personally would ask for a new one if its black like that because it would mess with how I paint. I much prefer whites etc and it looks like that black would be annoying to use. Never mind. Above.

Yes, it is a legitimate model. The black resin is used in their terrain pieces, which are cast using slightly different methods that bring the cost down a bit (previous terrain was discontinued because it was too expensive to make and people wouldn't buy it at the higher price).
