Hey guys, I'm planning on adding a thunderbolt to my Existing Imperial Navy bits and Bob's. Just wondering if anyone's had experience with these and how good the quality is, ease of build etc?

3000pts XIIth Legiones Astartes 8th Assault Company. (Pre heresy)
never in the field of human conflict, has so much been fired at so many, by so few.
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions. Loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

the instructions look detailed and highly informative, so I don't think this model will be any harder to build than other FW models.

It's not 100% square & needs quite a bit of cleaning up.
I did manage to get a large GW flying base to fit with a bit of drilling & filing (& swearing).
I've also found out that if you want to have a clear canopy then cut some blister pack to size & fix in place with paint-on gloss varnish.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

It's easy to build. You get 4-5 pieces for the body, and one piece for each of the wings and fins. And everything has plenty of overlap so it's not a big deal if a part is just slightly too small, unlike some FW kits. If you can handle large resin kits at all then you should have no problems with the Thunderbolt.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |
