Subject: [Horus Heresy] Who stays neutral or pursues their own agenda?

I've fallen behind a bit on my Heresy lore and it's occurred to me that I don't know if anyone really sits out the Horus Heresy or decides to advance their own cause over trying to elevate the Imperium or Chaos. I know Alpha Legion thus far believe that the Cabal has the best plan and appear to be pursuing it, and the Unremembered Empire had a brief backup Imperium, but any accounts of "Screw it, I'm sitting this one out"?

Except for the Alpha Legion none, I believe, as the Dark Angels were busy fighting the Night Lords.

I really wish the Cabal had been more fleshed out for this reason. No one knows all this about chaos and doesn't have a secret agenda. I would believe they were simply being altruistic to a degree, if only they weren't all so secretive about it, and also, no one in this setting knows the definition of altruism.

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature. |

Not really, as you would be a lot worse off in the end, no matter who won. Can't think of any accounts of Late Freys either.

The Thousand Sons were neutral for quite a while, before finally choosing a side.
Alpha Legion are just intentionally confusing as all hell. Speaking of which, I really dislike the Cabal and the whole concept of immortals. Seems like some GW writers really just wish they were writing for Dr. Who.

I guess it would be Guilliman with Imperium Secundus.
Agreed Warptide, I find the addition of perpetuals unnecessary.
