Well it seems that Marker Drones are actually NOT going to be as good as I first suspected, they might be worth dropping on a broadside or maybe with a firewarrior team (min 12 strong to make it worth while)

It is pretty clear that because marker drones have marker lights which are HEAVY weapons putting them with say a stealth team is probably a bad idea (the best thing about a stealth team is hopping around all over the place)

So... any other uses you can all think of for Marker Drones?

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

Call it, Blood Bowl: Intramurals.

My list has two. They are attached to two 6 man firewarrior squads with all carbines and an leader with marker light. Their whole purpose is first turn seeker delivery system. I should get one hit between the drone and the firewarrior in which to use a seeker. After that they become an expendable wound as I will keep the firewarriors moving and shooting hoping for pins.

The list also has two sniper drone units and a pathfinder unit. The snipers when deployed can pretty much own a section of the board, forcing the enemy to deploy elsewhere. Then the two units of on foot firewarriors can set up with LOS to tanks or transports or other juicy targets. Then failing that I get to use pathfinders to get final set up postions.

Anyway, thats the current plan.

A couple of my lists actually have some in it. The latest one I've come up with has 3 10 man squads of Firewarriors and they all have 2 marker drones in it, along with the Shas'ui having a markerlight. There expensive squads, but it helps spread my markerlights and can get my firewarriors hitting pretty well since they are networked. They're useful if you use them properly, such as a high number of firewarriors.

you could attach them to a small stealth suit squad hidden behind a larger one, the larger one moves and the smaller one is there specifically to send markerlight hits out.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Someone in my local club is trying out a minimum stealth unit with markerlight team leader and six marker drones. It costs 285pts!! But generates seven marker shots and is pretty much untargetable.

Markerlights are great but marker drones leave a lot to be desired, they cost too much.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
