Hello everyone,

I am looking at Secret Weapon resin bases, both of which are flat (flagstone and ruined temple), and I was wondering about methods of attachment. I've read a lot that pinning is the best way to go, but on flat surfaces, would super glue be enough? Would prime make it better to glue to the model, or would resin on plastic be best?

This would only be for Eldar Dire Avengers and their 25mm bases.

If it's just plastic to the resin base and there are suitable flat areas to attach it to, superglue might be enough by itself.

One tip that will help though, is to roughen up BOTH surfaces you want to join with the glue (superglue works best with maximum surface area). I.E. BOTH feet and BOTH areas the feet will go.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I use a ton of Secret Weapons bases, they rock. I do pin the models to them just because I'm a boots and suspenders kinda of guy.

What do you mean by roughen up? Use a knife to create small cross cuts on both the feet and exactly where I will attack it to, or something else?

Your usage of the word "might" is making me a bit nervous haha. I wonder if anyone has any luck with just gluing on resin bases. I could try pinning, but the dire avenger legs are really thin, and I worry I would do harm to the models.

Ahh okay thank you for this. If no issues then I may pick some up for mine.

I just bought a bunch and I plan to pin them, mostly because it feels secure and I use pins with the bottlecaps I use for grip when painting anyways.

Secret Weapon bases are amazing. Most of my Nids are on them.

Pin them. Paperclips will do but I use brass.

Even if things get unstuck, models will generally hang onto the pins for the remainder of the game until you can apply some first-aid

Get your models on the table and looking good!

Pin pin pin !! one pin will take less time than it takes you to snip off the foot tabs and file them down. On the base, you don't have to be super accurate, or worry about drill depth, making it even easier.
