So, I hope the title is clear enough on what I want, I'm looking for some outside opinions on a Tournament I'm running within the next month or so. It will be split into 3 teams: Imperium, Chaos, and Xenos. It will be a narrative campaign/Tournament building up to a 20k point per team apocalypse game.
It starts with the Imperium players as defenders with Xenos and Chaos in a 2000 point planetstrike game. Depending on the winners and losers, the second round will either be a regular game, or a second planet fall. the regular games will be the landed forces taking objectives like anti-air weaponry, power generators, remote factories and the like. by the third round the city fight missions will begin with around 1000 point max detachments meeting each other over command positions and in city objectives. Depending on the previous games armies will have advantages with deployments and weaponry.

Rule limitations overall:
1. Imperium forces CANNOT ally with Xenos or Chaos
2. Xeno forces cannot ally with Imperium or Chaos
3. Chaos forces can ONLY ally with guardsmen
4. Limit 1 super heavy / lord of war at all times unless further stated.

Rule limitations on Planetstrike missions:
1. Limit 1 super heavy

Rule Limitations on Cities of death
1. No super heavy / lords of war
2. No riptides, Wraith Knights, and the like
3. All units that have snipers are given a modified infiltrate rule

Modified Infiltration: can infiltrate within 12" in line of sight, 6" without line of sight.

This is all very much work in progress, but any input would be lovley.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

First of all, decide whether you want to have a tournament or a narrative campaign. Right now it sounds like you want a narrative campaign, and that is fine. But if you try to present it as a tournament you're going to have conflicts.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I can see it working so long as everyone participating is actively trying to make the event work. I would greatly enjoy going to an event like this.

This is a good idea

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.
