Greeting! I hope this is the right place and is acceptable. If it is not I apologize in advance.
I am posting here because we are looking for some help. I am the Miniatures/Wargames Coordinator for The CharCon Gaming Convention, which takes place each October in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Civic Center. Our dates for 2014 are October 24-26 and as we head into our 9th year, we hope to maintain our trend of growing attendance each year and expect to see 700+ attendees from around WV and surrounding states.

While, once, we had a thriving miniatures wargaming presence at our show, it has seemingly dwindled in the past few years (namely in Games Workshop events). There have been contributing factors. We have had waning support from our local shops as they are trying to move away from GW products and the gaming groups in the area are finding the local 40k tournament/event landscape to be stale. Other games are gaining in popularity, but 40k remains the most popular miniature game, in our region. Gamers in the area are playing games like 40K just as much if not more than ever, they just aren't playing them at Charcon. We want to breathe some life back into what we offer at the show and give 40K players a reason to be excited about CharCon.

We think this is where a new partnership between CharCon and a new shop or club with a focused on 40K & GW products would be very beneficial. Our players are tired of playing the same tournaments, run by the same judges, playing on the same terrain. So, it is our hope that we can negotiate a new vendor or club to appear at CharCon 2014 to run a 40K tournament (as well as any other events you may care to run) and re-inject some excitement about this hobby back into our region.

Since we understand travel distance is a factor, here are some references for travel times to Charleston from nearby cities.
Lexington KY - 2.5 hours, Cincinnati OH - 3 hours, Columbus OH - 3 hours, Pittsburgh PA - 3.5 hours, Roanoke VA - 3 hours, Charlotte NC - 4 hours

If you represent or know of an suitable and potentially interested club or vendor, please private message me or contact us through Facebook. We would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
