If I get shootas on a unit with a nob, does the nob have to get the Shoota? This wasn't the case last edition, but there isn't an FAQ for this one yet... Also if I don't take the Shoota, if I take a big Shoota or nob instead, do I have to pay the points for a Shoota?

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

For those curious of the wording:
The Entire Mob may.... 1 / model

As you can see, this option is clearly related to the Mob (Unit) as a whole, so there is no option for the Nob to be exempt from this choice. The cost of the option is also calculated based off the number of Models in the Mob, which would include the Nob regardless of the fact it would otherwise get one for free, or that it is likely to swap it out for something else. Without further instructions stating to except the Nob from the cost, such as Tau have with their Drones, we must include that additional point cost even though the Nob should be exempt.

Keep in mind I am not an Ork player, so I might be overlooking something, but the outlook is grim.

The entire mob may replace their sluggas with shootas…1 pt/model

2 ways to interpret it:

1. The entire mob may replace their sluggas with shootas…1 pt/model
2. The entire mob may replace their sluggas with shootas…1 pt/model

The first results in you paying points for the ones who won't get the upgrade - special weapons and nobs (cause nobs can get free shootas from ranged weapons).

Your second interpretation is not valid because you're paying one point 'per model', not 'one point per slugga'.

It is the reason why the Tau codex has this Rule:
Drones taken as upgrades cannot purchase options, however, and so do not pay for them if their unit does so.
It is followed by an example using Emp Grenades, a x/model option, where the Drones are not included in the final cost.
