I recently purchased the great unclean one from forgeworld.

As with the standard procedure with forgeworld models I scrubbed it with warm soapy water with a toothbrush. I sprayed the model chaos black and went to just go over the bits I missed with my old tank brush.. and I came across a grey patch (the arm where he's kind of leaning on his hip; not the sword arm.) Now on the inner side of his arm in go to paint the grey patch.. but the chaos black paint almost slips straight off the model. The paint will not. At all. Cover the patch.

I've gone over the patch with a toothbrush again. I've used a light circular file. And yet still to no prevail. Has anyone else ever had a problem like this? It's more or less about half an inch (the inner most part of the arm)

It's possible it's a spot of poorly mixed, uncured resin. But that you'd have only one spot is a bit unlikely.

All ways, try painting some varnish over the spot, then have another go.

I've never had that happen nor heard of it. Very weird.

I cleaned the model, prime the parts chaos black before I assemble to avoid that problem. Once assembled/magnetized and pinned, I go over with watered down chaos black.

Failing that you might try roughing the area slightly with some fine sandpaper or steel wool.

I don't think Chaos Black is a primer (unless it's a primer) I never use Citadel to prime. It sounds like your paint is having a reaction on the resins mold release. Rise wash again and try sanding that spot very lightly to make it abrasive to give the primer something to adhere to. Varnishing that spot is also a helpful tip.

If none of the suggestions work, then call FW and they'll replace the part.

The problem with the model is it only comes in 7 parts; the whole torso (head, feet, both arms, and body), 3 horns. A hand with the sword. And a tongue that wraps around the sword.

Like I've said prior I used a circular file extremely lightly on the area as to try and create abrasion, whilst retaining detail, but it doesn't seem to work ( the model is fat and huge. Full of wrinkles and crevasses)

I have some of the liquid green stuff they made a couple of years ago. Do you think perhaps applying a very very thin layer could stop the problem???

Try with a stronger detergent, something that really attacks nasty baking grease, and let the mdoel soak for a while. Or some gasoline.

It's uncured resin - I've had this a few times. It seems drastic, but scrub the area with a brass wire brush -

So just to be sure; you've tried:
- scrubbing soapy wash again
- viling the spot down
- using varnish to cure the spot ?
- used black Primer not just black paint ?
- you can definitly try the thin liquid greenstuff.
- if that doesn't work you could try to to use a thin layer of greenstuff or milliput to cover the entire area with it overlapping the sides some bit more, then use sculpting tools to blend in the patterns and so on.
- if that didn't work, I would try to contact forge world about it.

TIP: take pictures of every step in case you need to send forge world a message.

Goodluck and definitly post us pictures if you succeded. I have a forgeworld raptor gunship on order (should arrive at any time now). It would be very usefull for me to know what the outcome was in case I would encounter the same problem.
