At least it'd be better than hurr durr Kirk winning.  Thing is about Star Trek.. none of its characters really stand out amongst the others.. the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, as they say, whereas some shows are much more heavily centred on just a couple of the regular characters. Something like that. I forgot what I was thinking about half way through that.

Yes yes we do. He is so far off the beaten Star Trek path he is by far the most interesting

Yes yes we do. He is so far off the beaten Star Trek path he is by far the most interesting
More than that he's just, in general, a very interesting character throughout every series. From eating lunch and making idle chat with Bashir now and then to leading a rebellion.. good old Garak never fails to impress.

I find 'well, he's too minor a character so we better let kirk win' to be a bad argument K_K, he was written with all the depth of a LeCarre character and acted phenomenally. He was the devil in the room for the already dark set theme DS9 group. The 3rd runner here is just there because the actress is pretty. The 2nd runner is kirk, a cheesy relic of a long dead time that was very badly acted by 'le Shat'. Garak is the clear choice here.

Have to agree with MGS. Except when it comes to Dax, I always felt her character was more than just a pretty face. As for the rest of that list I'd have to route for Quark third and Worf fourth, although I'm a bit disappointed that Sloan wasn't on the list. Sure, he only appeared a few times but he represented Section 31 in this series.. which is fairly important, and frankly I liked his character. Always saw him as a wannabe Inquisitor from 40k, if the comparison is possible.
