This is only for a pet project of mine and in no way official. I'll spare y'all the backstory but for those of you who have a good understanding of the 'cost' of a weapon or a skill, particularly when used in combination with other skills, I would appreciate your input on the points cost. Compared with the cost in N3 for Uxia and the Spetsnaz, 33 & 31 seemed like a good starting point. She'd work for Ariadna of course, and also the Assault Subsection. For, you know, reasons...

I think BS13 and W2 is too much. W2 makes it an HI for a start and HI infiltrators are pretty rare. BS13 also makes her one of the sharper shots in the army, which again on an infiltrator... maybe not.

Its seems a rather odd loadout, not really melee oriented, just makes it a level playing field and restricted on the shooting end. Also no CH at all which is also unusual for infiltrators. You may need to share your backstory to help us make sense of it.

I think scavanger is considered to be worth a bit, so that'd probably be the more expensive option.

The short version is that she should have been born a Wulver, the illegitimate child of prominent traders from the Tartary region. Her father had heard rumours of a gene therapy treatment that could 'cure' her before she was even born and he exhausted a good deal of his resources to acquire it through Khanate contacts. The treatment (Regeneration) worked but it only suppressed the dominant genes and only temporarily (Natural Born Warrior, Higher Ph, Higher W, Higher ARM.. generally some of the toughness of the Wulvers) ; Many more treatments were required in order for Alyona to grow up, serve her time in the Kazaks, get promoted and survive enough encounters with the Combined Army to get a shot at joining the Spetzsnaz. She was tough, she was stubborn and she worked her ass off to complete the training but then her father's contact was caught by the Muhafiz he was stealing from; No more treatments.

Sensing that her achievement was going to be short lived and her world was about to fall apart she tried to secure the drugs herself but her communications were intercepted by ALEPH and passed on to O-12. Due to her experience fighting off Combined Army incursions in her years with the Kazaks, she was given a choice: Assist the Assault Subsection in their operations on Dawn in exchange for continued treatment.. or find out what would kill her first; the shock of coming off the treatment, the sudden regression that would follow or the wrath of the Djanzaban.

Now when ALEPH needs her services, it requests her via the O-12 and the Spetzsnaz lease her out. Accompanied remotely by her ALEPH 'handler' (Aerocam) she is sometimes employed as a liaison to other Ariadnan forces operating alongside the Steel Phalanx but more often that not her task is more gruesome; Confirming Lhost casualties on the battlefield and identifying 'survivors' who have been sepsitorised, marking them for elimination (Forward Observer, X-Visor). If Lhosts are captured by the Combined Army, it is her job to follow and ensure that the prisoner is not interrogated by the EI in the event that suicide is not possible. Getting in is tricky - getting out again is noisy, and often requires the appropriation of enemy vehicles or equipment. (Scavenger, Pilot)

Haven't been on here for a while, so soz for slowness.

The regen would work, but I'd still put her down to 1W. Had been going to mention the daccw as ariadna doesnt have those, but I guess aleph or something chucked it her way.

I can see aspects of the wulvers, but not really anything from the spetsnaz. Marksmen may be too much, and MA doesnt go with NBW so I'd look at going either ambush camouflage or parachutist. The current infiltration doesnt feel like it fits with her background to me. Also berserk to make CC somewhat viable for her. An a points increase of 3 i think would be okay.

Not quite sure about the use of pilot, but alrighty then.

BS -> 12
Infil -> Berserk
I'd be inclined to just make one profile, and have parachutist. A somewhat CC oriented AD sounds interesting. Not quite Duroc, but interesting enough.

Thanks for your continued input! I was worried about the effects of shock on a 1 wound model with Regen but I just re-read the rules and I see that a model with Regeneration also gets Shock Immunity so yeah I feel more comfortable about dropping it down to 1 wound now

You're right about the lack of Spetznas influence.. my main concern is resisting the urge to add everything from both profiles and turn her into some kind of Mary Sue character I agree that Marksmanship is probably a bit too good, so I think exchanging Inferior Infiltration for Parachutist is probably the best compromise. Beserk is interesting though.. I hadn't considered it before because I was worried it might be a bit too powerful but with 'only' a CC of 20 compared with dedicated CC specialists, it might work out.

Hmm.

Edit: If I dropped it down to one profile, what do you think about Scavenger? (I'll keep Pilot because it's pretty much there for the fluff and will be next to useless in most games). The 8pt, BS 10 Irmandinhos have the skill.. so in that sense it is 'cheap' but with BS 12 and an X-Visor, Scavanger seems like it would be worth more. Perhaps.. too much to merge into one profile (FO, X-Visor, Scavenger)?

If you particularly want scavenger then take it. But I'd loose the x-visor in that case. In terms of the background I don't feel the xvisor fits in that much, and xvisors are quite good. You only need to scavenge a rifle and you can reach 32" well, if you picked up some special weapons it could become a bit crazy. With parachutist you'd also be more likely to be able to reach guys with snipers and hmgs, which with an xvisor...

Yeah that's exactly my concern which is why FO & X-Visor and Scavanger were on separate profiles (the X-Visor helps with FO, and it helps somewhat with the SMG). Hmm, maybe I'll keep it as two profiles but make all the other changes.

I just wish I had the fonts CB used - having to copy and paste letter by letter is somewhat arduous

Which fonts in particular?

Get the Orbitron fonts, Century Gothic truetype fonts, PTSans fonts and the MyriadPro fonts. All are free. That ought to cover most everything. Just search for them.

Thanks! It's pretty easy to come up with a profile and some fluff that justifies why someone is a bad ass.. but it's harder to find ways to tone it down so the character doesn't end up like some kind of Mary Sue Ultimate Bad Ass
