So I'm newer to the game and trying to find out how unit coherency works on large blobs/spread out units. Let's say I string out a 30 man unit of imperial guard(or am) to secure an objective and provide a meat shield for someone. Then as the troops are intended the middle 15 get killed. The other 15 on the "edges" need to regroup for coherency but how? To the middle? To a side? What am missing? Thanks guys.

They just need to move as quickly as possible to regain coherency. So in most case, yes, that would mean both sides moving in to meet in the middle.

So even if the for some reason couldn't make the distance in one turn as long as both sides flat out run to each other? Can't do anything until in coherency other than move?

As far as I know the unit can still shoot and such, I'm not sure about charging into melee however (may not be possible as a unit charging into a melee must maintain unit coherency.)

I think as long as the movement phase was spent trying to get them back into coherency you're fine.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.
