In a game on Tuesday night I had my shas'el move around with  two gun drones (off fish) slightly in front of him, it seemed a bit of a cheesy use of the IC rules but hey, not getting my HQ killed was nice. Anyone else ever use this?

Another way to go about it would be to field a squad of 8 gun drones and just have them surround your shas'el as they move around together making your shas'el almost invulnerable.

Just make sure your opponent knows that when he's shooting at your "unit", he knows it's not the Shas'el controlling the 2 drones to form a single unit, otherwise he'd get pretty pissed.

BTW, if you give your Shas'el a drone controller but no drones (is that possible? I think it is... if it isn't, lets say the 2 drones died..) can he then use his drone controller to control the devilfish drones? Well, I guess b/c he's an IC he can just join them... ok how about a lone crisis suit with said config?

Here are my suggestions for naming the tactic:

"Drones in my happypants"
or
"Shas with a dropped pair"

or you could name him "Shas EL Dumb@ss", *cough*wink*cough*

yea its good, only protects you against 1 'serving' of fire though as the drones die so fast. can be useful.

 

also if you're running the HQ guy around behind a devilfish, he cant be shot till the fish is dead. now, if the fish does die, the enemy can shoot the IC.

but! its drones disembark like passengers and get entangled. if they survive that, they still count as a closer target. haw haw haw.

alternatively the skimmer may have blocked LOS anyway to the suit. haha

@ spooky, I like that one a lot more, problem is that the fish can't neccesarily shadow an IC as well as drones can.

Oh, and I think Neil gets the prize with 'shas w/ a dropped pair'
