With the new codex coming out I decided I want to run Asurmen and some of his Dire Avengers. However, I'm really not a fan of the ancient metal model. So, any ideas/thoughts on the best way to make an Asurmen conversion?

I have a bunch of 2nd edition metal avengers (including pointing exarch). I am planning on getting a box or two of the new avengers. Besides a few weapon swaps and maybe using the bigger 35mm base for him how would you guys go about making an Asurmen out of those kits (I do have a ton of other eldar bits to work with)?

I'm just looking for tips/suggestions or even examples. How have you seen him converted or how did you do your conversion? How would you make him stand out? Just note I'm only a novice at green stuff and some of the finer modeling techniques.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would probably start with the new Autarch with extra large dire sword. remove wings and add cape, and add maybe the arm mount SP from the DA plastic kit.
