Hi there,

I have a serious balancing issue with GK/Eldar vs CSM. What would you do with CSM against this list:

Farseer with spear
Spiritseer
10 Guardians with bright lance
2 War Walkers with scatter lasers
1 War Walker with bright lances
Wraithknight with dual wraithcannons and dual scatter lasers

Scriptor with ML 3, storm bolter and hammer
10 Strike Squad with 2 psycannons and 1 hammer, justicar with halberd
Dreadknight with heavy psycannon

In sum about 1400 points and 10 warp charge. The elder are unbound, because the guy started elder just about one year ago and that is everything he has.

The following house rules are used: D-weapon result 6 and stomp result 6 are like D-weapon result 2-5 but without safes. Invisibility is just WS/BS 1.
CSM may have 10 % more points than Eldar/GK, so 1540.

Unfortunately the Eldar/GK seem unstoppable. Strike squad with scriptor almost every time shocking in round 1 (nemesis detachment) casting psychic shriek on obliterators, casting invisibility or shrouded on themselves and then blowing up one vehicle in the rear. The elder are messing around with 24 S6 shots, 3 bright lance shots and 2 D shots. The guardian are somewhere in ruins, of course shrouded (attached spiritseer) and therefore have a 2+ cover save. The war walkers are shooting and then running with battlefocus behind LOS blocker again. And then there is this dreadknight with his 30 inch jump and heavy psycannon…

I don’t see anything CSM can do against this. What would you do with CSM (1540 points)? Thanks!

Helldrakes would be a good start.

Back it up with a shock assault unit they can't hold against.
Use your cheaper units in cover to lock down objectives. Rhinos with objective secured can take advantage of his disadvantage as with unbound he
won't have obsec units of his own.

If psykers are really getting you down try out a culexus.

Commoragh (closer to the bottom)

nurgle DP with wings and the Black mace?

He can do some hurt on the WK. The Helldrake is an answer to alot of his infantry.

Or you could use bel'lakor and cast invisiblity on something to make it a Deathstar.

Thanks for the advice.
So we have:

Helldrakes
Fyling Nurgle DP with black mace
Bel'Lakor
Locking objectives with cheap troops

Somebody has more ideas?

Imagine a fireraptor with reaper autocannons would be pretty nasty againt that list. Maybe a conversion beamer or two on rapiers. Or perhaps some plasma chosen/havocs in a dreadclaw.

35 Chaos Cultist Zombies will lock a Wraithknight down forever, and ever and ever and ever until your Opponent decided never to bring one again

But seriously, 35 cheap, terrible and expendable Troop bodies can tie up a Wraithknight for 3-4 Turns unhelped. More than long enough for your other Army Choices to do their roles and cripple their lines.
